Party help

I volunteered ( because no other parent stepped up) to be the room Mother for my daughter's classroom. The thing is I do not have any good idea's on what do for their Halloween party. I would like the cost to be low and yet have some good things for the kid's. If anyone has any good idea's PLEASE PLEASE let me know, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Play a couple games.  Not sure of the age we are talking here but we always loved this ...... everyone take their shoes off and put them in a big pile at one end of the room, then move the kids to the other end of the room,  then "ready, set, go" they are off to the shoe pile.  They have to get their own shoes on and run back to the starting point.  It was hilarious for my daughter and friends when they were about eight and I think doing this in costume makes it even better.  Charades is great fun - break up the classroom into sets of six or eight.  And of course, costume judging contest - let the kids vote for the prettiest, scariest, funniest, most original.  Go trick or treating from classroom to classroom - or a few classrooms and administration.

Good luck eek and good for you for stepping up to the plate.

There's alot of websites that may be able to help with the planning and games for the party. Here's a few  that I hope you find useful.

It's very generous of you to help out in the classroom.  I work for the school district and it's so nice
when parents can help out and stay involved with the kids.  Before I started working, I tried to volunteer
in my kids classes, or at least donate things that the teacher needed.
I don't understand why some parents Never come in to meet the teacher and could care less about
what's happening with their children at school.

Oh I forgot to give you my ideas for the party...The kids have a lot of fun at Halloween parties when you make it kind of
"creepy".   Take grapes and peel the skin off of them...have the kids close their eyes (or blind fold them) put the grapes in a bowl
and have the kids feel them ...tell the kids they are eye balls!
You can use cooked spaghetti and say that they're worms....
You could use jello for guts.... it feels gross!  you could also use plastic spiders and gummy worms.  etc...
Good luck, and have some fun!
