Would you get mad?

The other day a vehicle got stuck in my driveway from the snow and thick ice. This vehicle is a rear wheel drive so it really did not stand a chance. The driver of this vehicle thought it was a good idea to spin the vehicle tires to the point that it was burning rubber and smoke was everywhere. Not a really smart idea!!

The problem is that when this person did this to the tires it burned one of my extension cords to a crisp. I was not aware of this at the time and when I went to plug in my outdoor decorations it blew a circuit and now the electrical outlet is fried. Therefore I am not able to plug in my decorations outside anymore and now I have to run the cords into the house.

Would you be upset? Would you say something to the driver? Would you just let it go afterall it is Christmas and just an accident?

I would definitely say something to the driver, if you know who they are. They probably aren't aware of the damage they did. I know I would feel awful if I did that & I would want to know if I damaged someone's property.

It sounds like it was accidental & not purposeful, so I don't think it would do any good to get angry & upset over it. But personal responsibility is not stressed today as much as it was in the past; everyone seems so quick to point the finger & say, "It's not my fault!" I wouldn't expect much more than an apology.

Well, yes, I would be upset at first. But realizing it was not an intentional act, there would be no point in an angry confrontation with the driver. I would definitely tell them about it and ask if they would consider replacing it. Or, lol, chalk it up to "tis the season!"

I would be dismayed, but I most likely wouldn't talk to the driver, unless he/she was someone I knew and I could bring it up in a humorous manner. If it was clearly unintentional it wouldn't be worth it to me. It only costs about $10 for an outlet (and I can replace it myself) and maybe another $10 for a new extension cord. $20 is a small price to pay to keep the peace.

I wouldn't be mad, mistakes are mistakes, but I would 100% say something the next time I saw them. If the situation were reversed I would definately hope the other party involved would tell me so that I could rectify the situation.

If they are the kind of person that would take a 'It isn't my problem' approach they probably aren't the kind of person I'd care about keeping in my corner anyways.

Eek-I wouldn't be too upset if it happened to me,but I would feel really bad if I had done it to someone else and would want to be told so that I could replace the cord and fix the problem.Everyone isn't that way,so you have to go by what you know of them, but I would want to be told.
