ragmop, I have no idea what my brother's tractor is, lol. A couple of the older grandkids went up in a hot air balloon too.

We used to own a 1920 Model T, won a couple of awards at shows. We sold it to an old guy who actually remembered driving one...my husband still mourns for that car. At least he still has his "mistress", a 1954 Ford.

I watched the Twilight Zone Marathon, well, some of it, when we got home from BVS. I couldn't believe how many people and cars were lined up at 6:30 pm for the fireworks. Glad I got home early!

We're headed back to BVS today for a BQ @ my niece's house - actually my husband is over there now finishing up one of his job's up on the mountain.

We spent part of the day at the park, I had to come home early and go to bed, slept my July 4th away.

I had to work the late pm shift last night.  I called in before going in at nine, they weren't busy, so I was able to stay at home and watch the fireworks with the family.  Got to work at 10pm, nobody came in for firework related injuries.  That's good.  The cowboys seem to not have as much luck. : )

Ragmop, thanks for the clarification on the gasoline.  What exactly does hit and miss mean?  Will they be there again today?  Maybe I'll stop by again.

Thanks for letting me know!  I'll wander on down for pancakes tomorrow am. I have to be a Woodward around noon and have to run into town but should have enough time for breakfast.

The little hit & miss engines are gasoline, not steam...  we own the small John Deere engine on display.  Hank Forbes owns the corn shellers and other neat old artifacts and the larger hit & miss engine... he's a cool guy in his overalls and a good friend.  :-)   awsmom.. the pancake breakfast is on for tomorrow.   There's a car show tomorrow also.. we'll be working there all day.   Gotta love Bear Valley... not exactly Mayberry, but darn close.

Awsmom, the pancake breakfast will be Sat and Sun 6:30-10:30.

Is the pancake breakfast tomorrow am too?  I missed it this am and will go tomorrow if it's still on.  Cool ragmop, I saw the Model A and the John Deere Tractor.  I used to have a 1948 Ford 8N that I used almost everyday but sold it--for $1000 more than I pd for it and didn't drop any money in it.

Yes, had a great time at the parade!  Saw the tractor w/the kids, and the Model A, very cool!  Went to Cub Lake and saw the little (steam?) engines too.  I love Bear Valley, it feels like Mayberry!

At the BV parade this a.m., I was a passenger in the '31 Ford Model A (driven by hubby) directly behind the fire trucks...

Joty, was the tractor that pulled your brother's g-kids a small John Deere L8??  If so, I did see it.... we own the John Deere tractor that was on display with the small hit & miss engines, we also own the Model A that was on display there... same car we drove in the parade.

Hey Greg, at the parade this a.m. did you happen to see the trailer packed with about 15 kids pulled by a small tractor? lol, that was my brother and his grandkids and my other brother's grandkids...

Well, it was our first time to the BVS pancake breakfast and it was great!  Sitting out there, having breakfast right under the balloons was great fun.  The BVS parade was charming as always, but no military vehicles this year, although I might have one of my own for next year. :)  And the event at Cub Lake was nice too.  Lots of booths, food, music and fun.  Later it's off to downtown for the 4th-wine-tasting-beer-garden-event-thingy.

My Gramda lives in Clear Lake, and I used to fish at Crystal Lake with my other Grandma!

The wife and I are going for pancakes in BVS in a few minutes, then watch the balloons from our backyard, the the great little BVS 4th parade.  Down to downtown this afternoon for the festivities there, and fireworks.  Happy 4th!!!

Job, I think I know what you mean about going out to take pictures.  I couldn't be happier being out in the desert (or around The Loop area) all by myself taking pictures of trains!  Very relaxing!
