Look Who Joined me for Supper...

"eek" thought you might appreciate this one....

He kept me company while I prepared Taco's...

This was right above my kitchen sink, he just kept staring at me.

Asked him, "Didn't your mamma teach you no manners? It's very rude to stare."

Jeez I just can't believe how freaked out my husband and in-laws are about snakes! The men AND the women. I told them I did my research and this particular snake is absolutely harmles if not beneficial being in or around our house. I got mad and told them that their fears were based on myths, superstition and ignorance....My husband told me about how I get freaked out about bee's and I said yes I do and did get freaked out about flying, stinging insects, but that I'm not as bad as I used to be because I learned about them and that some are less harmful then I realized but that some were worse, but I least I got my facts straight! They're all paranoid thinking that the snake is gonna come slithering into our beds at night and such and that it may just come out and bite us if we stick our hands in the wrong places, etc etc.....jeeez, I laughed and told them that I've seen at least 2 other snake sightings since we moved in here 1 1/2 yrs ago and nothing has happened. They were all talking about not coming over to our house unless we get rid of it etc etc...I told them , well everytime they came over before it was here , they just didnt know it...Jeez astounds me. I mean I can understand if we're talking about something thats poisonous and/or aggressive, but I believe and know this thing is perfectly harmless....I told them I would have 10 snakes vs 10 mice(not the domesticated kind) anyday, they thought I was nuts, LOL

Hey at least this is a way to keep your in-laws away...LOL.   But on the serious side, you know how hard it is to overcome your fears.  Now the whole, "we're not going to come over to your house" thing would have peed me off too.  So how do they expect you to "catch" the snake?   Is Paul going to do it?  Or about telling the in-laws when they come to visit, they can catch him.  You should get one of those fake snakes and put it in the toilet at night and wait for Paul to get up and go...ha ha.  Naw, that would just be mean.  Do you remember Edie's fear on snakes?  It could be neon green and she still would freak!!  Just remember, you gotta pick your battles.

Well, I tried to "act" bummed when they made the comment about not coming over. ROFL... J/K  I actually like my in-laws, and I'm sure they will come over eventually, lol, they just like to dramatize everything, especially Paul! My nickname for him is MR. DRAMA! His dad is so mellow and so is his brother, the two are kind of the strong silent type, so I wondered where he got the drama from and then I met his mother :^D She doesn't come across as being dramatic at first, then you get her around the family or at her restaraunt....anyway, I did mention we could get a cat, cuz Sean was chasing this little kitty around at my bro-in -laws house, but Paul don't like kitties either, but I told him it might keep the snake away. We'll see....we have dogs but the two places I saw a snake is where our dogs don't go, lol, like the ceiling or the basement.

Oh and btw Scottso, the more I look into identifying the snake the more it is sounding like a Rat Snake, it just may be a baby one...Oh, how cute a baby snakey, LOL...not too many people would be oohing and ahhing over this kind of baby :^D

Oh, and there is no way in the world they were gonna try catchingit! Guns were mentioned.... Paul wanted to call an exterminator. Whatever....I told them no ones gonna be shooting guns in my house, I don't care how much in the country we are LOL!
