Monday Blues
I am so depressed today. I want to run away from I don't know what. Is it just me? I've been having some thoughts on different stuff. Who will the running mates be? Do we have such poor choices for President because no one significant (I don't have any idea on who that would be),  wants the job in this time of war and recession? My dad who I respect immensely says he is voting for Edwards. Now I am thinking of switching to him just because of my dads uncanny ability to read people. My husband got laid off etc. I just want to run away. I am blue.

Politics should not bring anyone down, they are all just about the same, corrupt, and a bunch of lying bastards who will promise anything to get elected, and people fall for it!, HA,,don't focus on Politicians.  but other than that, count your blessings Betsy, it could always be worse, you have your health, a roof over your head, and friends and family that I am sure would help you if you needed it. Get your mind off the negative.

Politics aside, I have a few ideas for you.  They may sound overly simple, but I know that they will help.

Get out in the beautiful sunshine we're having while it's here.
Take a walk, a drive, or a ride if you've got horses (with a loved one is even better).
If you have a pet, spend some good cuddle time.  If you have a honey, even MORE cuddle time.
Blast your favorite CD and sing or dance to it (whichever you like to do).
Get together with your favorite person and do something non-stressful.
Workout doing something you enjoy (even if it IS working out).
Make yourself your favorite cup of coffee or tea and stand outside and watch the clouds/birds/kids/cars go by.

I am well-versed in "blue" days.  All of these have worked for me at one time or another.  If you need more, or just need someone neutral to vent to, e-mail me!

You should read about Ron Paul.  He is by far our most promising candidate, in my opinion.  My husband and myself have been really pleased with all that he has said and done.

Thanks for your ideas and I will also read up on Ron Paul. I haven't bothered to read anything because I know he is not a contender at this time.

Hope you are feeling better today and have shaken that feeling. We all feel that way at one time or another so I think we can all sympathize with you. It's awful feeling blue but when you look around at the blue sky and the sunshine beating down, we really don't have things so bad. When you feel blue, think of all the things you can guarantee on : The beauty of the sunset, warm breezes dancing across your summer skin, the ocean crashing against the shore.........nature is one of the best miracles we have to enjoy. Close your eyes, relax, take a deep breath and let your thoughts carry you to a happier place. ((((((((((((((((hugz))))))))))))))))

Good blog. Starbucks i find it funny that we don't agree on the same party's but think that their all the same. blah blah blah what ever it take to get elected.  It doesn't mater what you run on if you cant get congress and the rest to go along with you its just that blah. i am a registered demarcate but I'll tell you that Ron Paul has got my attention. I enjoy watching him in debates because i think he wins most of them. He tells it like it is

Don't be sad.  This too shall pass.  In the big picture, life sucks and then you die.  OK - I won't use my sour humor to try and cheer you up.  But, honestly, sometimes you have to sit awhile on a bad feeling.  Not always, but usually, it goes away.  Now, for politics .........

Wouldn't it be wonderful?  Ron Paul will bring all our troops home from all over the world.  Fabulous.  Ron Paul will discontinue our current federal income tax program. Can't wait.  Ron Paul will dismantle the public educational system.  Oh boy.  Ron Paul will solve our economic problems.  Goody, goody.

I'd love all our troops to come home from Germany, Korea, South Africa, and goodness, Iraq.  But, most of those places want our troops there.  Our troops promote "good American ideals." Don't mix up "war occupation" with "desired participation."  The world is really a small place and it is bad business to practice isolationism. Especially when China owns us.

Our income tax pays for more than just our military.  Make a list of what we get for our tax dollars before you decide to indiscriminately eliminate those "services."  There are too many to list here but a few that come to mind:  the space program, the "arts," cultural centers, road, bridges, public transit, educational subsidies, grants to small communities like Tehachapi, special needs programs, libraries.

The school system is in big trouble.  More so in California than most other states.  But, the income tax dollar most households pay into the educational system will not pay for a private education.  So - be careful what you ask for.  Most people would end up having to home school.  Are you mommies and daddies up for the task?  Or do you have a paying, full time job?  How much trouble with the California Educational system be in without federal bucks?

Ron Paul wants a flat income tax .... I think he said 30%.  I have never paid that much - and look at your last income tax statement - you probably haven't either.

But - he sure is interesting.  I just say - take his ideas and use your own calculations and extrapolations to determine the results of his ideas.

And gillfish - hang in there.  It may not be true for everyone, but usually, a walk on a bright sunny day will make you feel better.

Thanks Lori. Yes sometimes you do need to sit on a bad feeling. I am so despondent though. One other political thing-Why is Chuck Norris so prominent in Huckabee's stumping? It's too weird to see him up on the podium smiling behind Huckabee, posing with Huckabee etc... Maybe he is helping with the fiances but come on. Enough already.

Maybe Huckabee bought more Total Gyms than anyone else in America?

In that case, when is Huckabee going to start using one because he is not in top peak physical condition in my eyes.  And the bass guitar thing. Lame.

To his credit, Huckabee has lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 110 pounds or so over the past year and a half. He may not be in peak condition, but he's a darn sight healthier than he was before. Which might be why Chuck seems to have a man-crush on him :o)

Huckabee on Bass!, well, you have to give him credit for trying, He seems to know what hes doing playing it, so, Sorry Huck, you dont get my vote, but, Rock On!
