Thought for the day
Sometimes when I am driving and I get delayed or have to take another route I think to myself that maybe if I didn't forget my meds and had to turn around and get them or that darned car ahead of me is in slow mode, that the delay is really saving my life or changing it in a way I can't for see.
The other day, when I thought that someone had stolen my wallet and I had to go back home (sitting on the table) to find it, it got me thinking about the split second that can change a life. The decision to pass that car or patiently wait. Should I do this or that today. Is that unsafe? Should I buy a lottery ticket? Being in the right place at the right time or the reverse can make you stop and think- Did some higher power have a hand in this? Why me? If only, what If............. All I really know is that life is fragile and I need to remind myself of these thoughts when I am being impatient and about to take a risk. It makes me use a little more caution and common sense and possibly that I am really changing or saving my life because of something within my control. Or not. 3 comments from 3 users

I'm sure the mother of the little girl who stopped to tie her shoe before being run down by a hit-and-run driver this weekend will have a bit different take on questioning the "Why?" of seemingly random acts. We're all so connected in ways we can't even imagine and yes, life is fragile and we should definitely slow down and use our intellect and our instincts rather than allowing the fast-paced work-a-day world turn us into creatures who react without some forethought. Thank you gilfish for making me think - and feel a little stronger and a little deeper today.
