The United States is a nation of laws. When government leaders do not enforce those laws, we begin to see the breakdown of our republic. This is the simplest, most basic and clearest argument against the practice of illegal immigration, which occurs more than three thousand times a day in America. posted by

If Arizona State Rep. Russell Pearce has his way, citizenship would no longer be automatic for everyone born on U.S. soil. Pearce is the man behind some of the toughest state immigration laws in recent years. So far he's pushed through a dozen or so pieces of legislation and he's prepared to keep fighting. http://www.npr.org/template...

The federal government is cracking down on immigrants who have been deported and then returned to the United States illegally. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-b...

Open-border conservatives love to tout the myth of the redemptive Hispanic, whose strong family values will allegedly return America to its traditional roots. Don't buy it: No ethnic group in the U.S. is producing out-of-wedlock children at a higher rate than Hispanics. posted by

I love America and i am not afraid to say that. what i don't love is illegal immigrants illegally living in this great country. I don't like them and i don't want them in America. I don't care where you are from if you are illegal then you are a criminal. In my eyes illegal immigrants are no better then a thief that breaks into your home to steal your things. Illegal is illegal,Its criminal. I am a supporter of the border fence and i want our immigration laws enforced. I want Employer's who hire illegals jailed. I want the immigrants that come here legally to supply a finger print to the Dept of immigration.I want when the immigrant applies for a job to have his print crossed matched with the Dept of immigration. No matcho no Jobo. Is this to much to ask for, i Don't think so.Please respond with your comments on illegal immigration. But please don't call me a racist. This is not a racial thing it's a illegal thing. posted by

Does anyone still think that illegal immigration doesn’t present a problem for our country? More importantly, does anyone believe that we should just grant that (almost) TRILLION dollar illegal community amnesty and invite them to stay legally? If you said, “Yes,” then I encourage you to reconsider the 47,000 gang members and their (more than) $130 Billion in illegal drugs, some of which are surely being sold / distributed to our CHILDREN. posted by

The emergence of Arizona Sen. John McCain as the presumptive GOP presidential nominee has seemingly pushed illegal immigration off the primary national agenda. But as the March 17 State Net Capitol Journal reports, states have more than made up for the lack of comprehensive federal immigration reform. Since 2007, many states have in fact enacted extremely tough anti-immigrant measures aimed directly at employers who hire illegal workers, with several more states poised to join them in the near future. To date, 36 states have considered 250 such immigration-related measures with 15 states having gotten those bills beyond the house of origin. posted by

PHOENIX (AP) - The new leader of a federal immigration agency in Arizona says that a key element in his plans to confront the state's border woes is cracking down on employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants. Matthew Allen, the new chief of investigations for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Arizona, says illegal immigrants would be less likely to come to the state if they knew employers wouldn't offer them jobs. Allen says that's why it's important to focus on the root cause of much of America's illegal immigration - jobs offered to immigrants. Allen previously oversaw such efforts while serving at the agency's headquarters in Washington. He also investigated drug and immigrant smuggling groups as an agent in Nogales from 2000 to 2004.

Illegal immigrants are beginning to comprise a black market class of workers in our society, jeopardizing the financial health of companies which play by the rules, while themselves vulnerable to the exploitation by those willing to take advantage of their illegal status posted by

Our nation's immigration policy has been of top concern in recent years, and for good reason. With between eight and twelve million illegal aliens in the United States, it is obviously a problem out of control. posted by

Illegal immigration is crisis for our country. It is an open door for drugs, criminals, and potential terrorists to enter our country. It is straining our economy, adding costs to our judicial, healthcare, and education systems |
