public-interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption has presented oral arguments in two separate California appellate cases dealing with illegal immigration.
In the first case, Judicial Watch has filed an appeal on behalf of a San Francisco resident, challenging the sanctuary policy of that city's police department. Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton says San Francisco police are prohibited from notifying federal immigration authorities when they arrest a suspected illegal immigrant for a narcotics offense.

One can't help but wonder WHY 81% of illegal immigrants are of Hispanic or Latino descent. Why is it that the Latino governments can't run their countries in such a way as to keep their citizens home? And Gube, you completely left out illegals managing, somehow, to vote in our elections. (Which, of course, is part of the reason nobody wants to do anything about illegal immigration.) Free health care? We do have free health care....it's called Medi-Cal and Medicaid. And the illegals have free health care too. Just ask KMC, which is gradually going broke treating illegals. But it's only free to the patients; you and I are paying for it. And I'm sick and tired of seeing Mexican flags flying in Bakersfield. America....love it, or go home! posted by

Foreclosed houses used to hide illegal immigrants in Phoenix, Ariz and Tehachapi, Ca.
PHOENIX - That empty foreclosed home down the street today could be a haven for immigrant smugglers tomorrow. A comparison of data on foreclosures and properties known as drophouses in the Phoenix metropolitan area shows that wherever homeowners are in financial distress, ‘‘coyotes’’ are probably lurking. The smugglers use rental homes known as drophouses to stash illegal immigrants long enough for payments to arrive, then release them to go on their way. The largest concentrations of Phoenix-area drophouses are in the same neighborhoods that have the largest share of foreclosures, the data shows. In addition, of the 41 Phoenix-area drophouses investigated for violence in the past year, 12, or nearly 30 percent, were in foreclosure when they were raided. posted by

I grew up in Earlimart California, about 50 miles North of Bakersfield and this almost what the town has turned into. These are pictures from slums in Mexico but as you can see by driving around Bakersfield and other small town around, Mexico is coming this way. Hell, they don't want a better life, they wish to bring their life here, slums and all. It's really a shame, Earlimart was a Beautiful town when I was growing up, 99.9 per cent Whites that took pride in their homes. My parents had the nicest house in town, so nice that the Mexicans named it the White House of Earlimart, large and nice to look at. It was hard to sell that house back in the late 90's but, after taking a good look around as to what the rest of the town had become, shacks next door, trash in the streets, the smell in the air, the trash walking the streets, hearing gun shots on the nights I stayed up there, strapping a gun on the nights I did stay up there made it easier to sell. When I was young and we left the house, you could leave all doors unlocked and when you returned home, there most likely would be a cake or a pie left on the table from one of the older neighbor Lady's. Now,,, if you drive below 60 miles an hour going through town they'll steel the tires off your car, if you go out at night up there you're stupid if you don't carry a gun with you. YEP !, THOSE FROM MEXICO ARE TRYING TO BRING A PART OF MEXICO WITH THEM. PLEASE SEND IT BACK !!!!!!!!! by murphylaw posted by

This blog isn't about race its about what I believe is right and wrong. I believe that if you are here LEGALLY then you should enjoy ALL of America's rights and freedoms. I believe that if you are in this country illegally then you need to be arrested and deported. If you committed any other crimes such as ID theft then you need to be charged with that crime. I believe that illegal immigration is a threat to this country. I believe that our elected officials have given illegal alien non-citizens rights over American citizens. I believe that our immigration problem can be controlled if our politicians would encourage our law agency's to enforce our existing immigration laws. I believe that we need to secure the border and complete the border fence. I believe that Amnesty should not be considered and should be taken of the table. I believe that illegal aliens are criminals not victims. I believe that the Mexican government should have to pay for all the services that their citizens are freely receiving in this country. I believe that illegal aliens should not be allowed to go to public schools. I believe that illegal aliens should not collect and public assistance of any kind. I hop I hope this helps explain my stance on illegal immigration gube posted by

Its makes me happy to know that some local law agency's are now working with the Feds Huntington Beach refers 262 arrestees to ICE HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—Hundreds of suspected illegal immigrants arrested in Huntington Beach have been referred to federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials since last year. The 262 people referred to ICE for detention and possible deportation between March 2007 and August 2008 had been arrested for a variety of crimes, including burglary, assault and drunken driving. ICE spokeswoman Virginia Kice says local law enforcement can contact federal authorities if they suspect an arrestee is an illegal immigrant. ICE expanded its program to work with local police departments in identifying and detaining suspected criminal illegal immigrants about two years ago. http://www.mercurynews.com/...

I'm sorry gube, but I have to rain on your fiesta. How the hell can it make you happy that people who were arrested waayyyyyy back in March of 2007 -- that's EIGHTEEN MONTHS AGO -- are STILL in jail? And they face POSSIBLE deportation?? Well, are they here illegally or not? If they're illegal then get them the hell out of our jails where WE, the TAXPAYERS, are paying for them!! If they are not, then proceed with the other charges they're being held on. This is NOT good news. This is just more money out of the taxpayer's pocket. You state that this blog isn't about race, but you make it about race when you make comments like "Earlimart was a Beautiful town when I was growing up, 99.9 per cent Whites that took pride in their homes" and "These are pictures from slums in Mexico but as you can see by driving around Bakersfield and other small town around, Mexico is coming this way. Hell, they don't want a better life, they wish to bring their life here, slums and all." You have admitted here in your blog that you enjoyed a privileged upbringing. You are fortunate. Have you ever considered that what you are calling a slum may in fact BE a better life for others?

Riceme bring it on ............. Riceme I suspect that the illegals still in custody probably serving time for other crimes that they committed......So are you saying that because they are here illegally then we shouldn't hold them accountable for their crimes, including burglary, assault and drunken driving and ID theft.........That we should let them steal from you and I and give them a free pass..I say lock'em up....... The post about earlimart was made by another blogger on another blog site......If you read the bottom of the post you will see it says by murphylaw....I felt the story did show what I believe to be one of the biggest problem with illegal immigration and that is the poverty it brings to what was once nice neighborhoods..................Drive through some parts of Kern county and you will see neighborhoods that resemble third world countries. I understand that there are bad neighborhoods where there is majority White and Black but my argument there is they belong here, they may be white trash but they are also American Citizens. Further more Riceme I have no idea where you got the idea that I grow up privileged......Maybe I said that I don't know but the truth is when I was growing up I had no idea that we were broke and my mom used to have to use food stamps.......I found that out years latter........,My folks came from the generation were they did not talk about finances and wages in front of the children..........My dad was a Episcopal Priest with 5 kids and priest did not make much money back then.....I always had a roof over my head and somehow there was always food but every thing else was pretty sparse. posted by

Unless they've committed violent crimes, I would prefer to deport them immediately. As a taxpayer, I don't want to pay to house someone in the prison system. Just get them the hell out of here. I'm sure it's punishment enough to send them back from whence they came. I apologize for misunderstanding the Earlimart post... I didn't catch that you were not the author of the post, and took from it that you had been raised priviliged. You're still not making a dent in my armor about your blog not being about race. Just because you drive through a slum and see "black" or "white" or "brown" people is no indicator whatsoever as to whether or not ANY of those people are in our country legally or illegally. You could just as easily be seeing a black family who is here illegally from Haiti, a white family who's here illegally from Russia, and a brown family who immigrated here legally from Mexico. The truth of the matter is that you don't know WHAT or WHO you're looking at, and that in all likelihood, are making a lot of assumptions. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. GUBE.
