Hillary or Obama ?

It sure looks like the Democratic presidential candidate will be either Obama or Clinton. My question is do you think that this country is ready for a female or Black president? Or does having a Female or black Democratic candidate favor the republican candidate come election time? I will post my opinions later.

I believe this country is ready for both. I just deleted an ugly reality that I dared to write but it sounded so bad I can't be the one to say it. I am republican spirited but at this time I think we need a cleansing of the Bush cronies. I can't wait to no longer see Cheney or Bush's faces. I did love 'Little Bush" that's the only way I can stomach him. Go Hillary!

I'd like to believe that as country built on equal rights that the color of the skin or gender of a candidate doesn't effect a person's decision on choosing the best candidate.  I mean there are other countries that have elected Presidents, Prime Ministers regarless of race and gender.  I'm voting for Obama, but I'll vote for Hillary if she's the nominee.

I think we're fine to have either, and I think a lot of people will be happy for both!  If anyone uses that against either Hillary or Obama, they'd be in the slim minority (thank goodness).

If I had to choose between the two, I would pick Obama over Hillary. I feel that she is to fake and dishonest to run the country.  Being a republican I so far want either Thompson or Hunter as they are closer to my beliefs and values. I agree that the country needs to clean out Bush and Cheney, but not with Obama or Hillary.

As for the other republicans running, McCain is a republican version of Hillary in my book, Rudy is strong but wants to limit my gun rights, open marriage, and abort babies (and he a republican?), Huckabee is also too much like Rudy with some strong difference I like.

How can the country demand change if it's not ready to accept change? A woman or a black man would definitely be a big change. No, I don't think either one of them will help the Republicans win...

I think the Dems will win this year, the Republicans have again screwed up big time. I'm hoping it will be Ms. Clinton. She has the experience and the knowledge we need to turn us around. I'm not sure what jer means by "fake and dishonest", just like Starbucks, vague bashing. Obama is charismatic, a great speaker, but what has he done to be qualified to be our leader?

But as I stated before, it'll be the electorial colleges that determine who will be the next President.

Fake and Dishonest is how most of the country describes Hillary, Fact, not vague bashing. Here are just some of her lies.

GO OBAMA!

Moved on to another topic eh Starbucks.  I read your link and again, it showcases NOTHING.  I don't care if you're supporting Obama.  What you're participating in (negative name calling without any valid information) is why so many peole hate the political process.  "Go read the net" and posting a link to a website with an anti-Hillary spin is the only thing you're capable of doing.  I hope for your own well being, you put more positive energy into telling those out there why you think Obama is a good candidate.  No self respecting person of intelligence respects or finds credibility in a person who cannot construct an informed, articulate argument.

Well, at least SB finally endorsed someone, LOL!!!

Vader, again, thank you. From here on out I think I'll just say "ditto"...

If Hillary gets the pass the primaries I don't believe she will win the national election regardless of who the republican is. If Obama takes the primary then the republicans have a problem.

One of the democrates biggest problems is that the current congress is controled by the dems yet they blame the republicans for not passing laws. Also is the fact that since the Pelosis congress took office few laws were even brought to congress at all. The fact is that the dems in congress had a big talk to get elected and since they didn't pass any laws to go to Bush, many dems are also very disappointed in their party and could affect the election in very negetive way for the dems.

In the case of the reps, Bush's second term was a slap in the face of true conservatives in the republican party and as such really hurt the reps chances.

Don’t like either one:

Hillary is a Clinton and I don’t want another Clinton in the White House to embarrass the country. Enough said.

Obama: I don’t know I just don’t like him. He looks wimpy and I think he is trying to appeal to the kids by being their “friend” or “buddy” instead of a leader.

If I have to pick a Democrat I guess it would be Edwards because he seems the most grounded and real.

ButI am a Republican and I haven’t decided because I don’t really like any of them yet.

IMHO most politicians are liars and their word can’t be taken at face value.

I think both Hillary and Obama would make a decent president. This is a very interesting election year. The right wing pie holes and the media both enjoy bashing the Clinton's and i have to tell you that they bash her because they are scared of her. I really don't know a lot about Obama but he is sure giving Hillary a good fight. Do you think that there may be an assassination attempt on either Hillary for being a Female or Obama for being black if either is elected president. My wife is worried that something like that might happen. I think either one would make a decent president.

I just want to hear a plan.  A realistic plan.  I understand things happen and things change.  But instead of saying "I will change this or that"  How are you going to change it?  What is your plan for the first 8 weeks in office?  Things like that.  I haven't made I mind up yet on anyone.  But as these two goes, I think they both would offer a change.  There are things I agree with and things I don't with both.  I guess I need to prioritize and see what is most important to me.  I think Clinton will be strong she has proved it so far in the race.  At first I thought it was kind of funny but soon realized that it will make her stronger in the eyes of the people.  No one else got attacked like she has been getting, and it's not because of her policies or her last name.  The press, people, etc can't make up their minds.  Either she is a cold hearted b***h, or she is just a cry baby.  Please give me a break.  Obama I think is a great motivator.  I think he can motivate alot of people and we need that.  I don't think we have had that since Kennedy, not that I think Kennedy was the greatest ever, but he knew how to make a speech that people remember and believed in.  I think Obama has that quality.  I just don't know if I believe the "everything will be better" view.  How is everything going to be better.  Again, I will wait till the final people and then hit the books!  But I think one thing most everyone can agree on is a change is needed.  Even if you are a Bush supporter, change is needed in this country.  We will never have a leader where everyone is happy, but we need one where most will stand behind and be proud of our country again.  That's what is important.  Presidents will come and go, but our country will be here and the people need to love it and be proud of it.  At least on the whole.

I think Hillary has more experience than Obama.  I loved America when Bill was president, I was a proud American back then.  I'm hoping to forget about the pain and embarrassment Bush has brought to American and go back to the days intellegence ran our country.  However, if Obama wins the primary I will vote for him.
