Okay now I am not a huge animal right person and think PETA is full of wack jobs that have no grab with reality but this guy needs to be arrested for animal cruelty. The killing of the snake itself does not bother me but the way he did it does. How on earth does it make him a survior to eat a kill snake?

birdlover1,

The question of legally being able to kill the snake to me was never in doubt. As I had said in the past I had done the same thing. The only thing I had ever questioned was the legallity of the method that was used if it was animal cruelity.

After finding the interview that he, Brent stated the method he used to kill the snake before taking the bites, I have no problem with. The key to the problem was that the shobby news reporting that allowed people to assume that the snake was alive during the bites. It was sad that a totally different news station had to find and learn the truth of what really occured.

Cloned steaks !!

I will never eat a cloned meat as I feel it is against God's will.

The thought of cloned steaks disgusts me!!!, But it's happening!! Be sure to read the package!

It's happening huh? I'd think that cloned animals are too expensive to slaughter, rather I would think that they would be used as breeders...are you opposed to eating the offspring of a clone animal?

I don't believed that the meat is being sold yet. I would still have some problems with eating the offspring also due to my belief and the question of possible health issues that may not have been found with clones.

What on Gods green earth are you so upset about.  Why, when I was a youngster, I've seen many a snake (varmints we called them back then) get sliced in half by a garden hoe or shovel.  For goodness sake, that's why they have so many babies.

Oh, I forgot to say, A snake really does taste like chicken.  If you were out in the fields and hungry, and God puts a nasty snake in front of you, would you act any different if a chicken was hiding under a rock?  Would you kill the chicken to feed your family, or would you let it run away, to be FREE, while your hungry children cry.

If you were badly burned would you use cloned skin cultures to help you heal faster with less scaring or would you deal with it the old way?

If I was badly burned, I would use whatever method worked and was available, cloned or not.  Is cloning animals really needed?  They seem to reproduce very readily without our help.   Cloning humans is just wrong, imho.

Jen,

I think you really need to catch up to the blog. The snake topic has moved to cloned animals. As for a snake, I don't have a problem with eating a snake and the topic was not even about eat one but how the snake was killed.

Blendonw,

At this time and place I would say no I would not use a cloned animal to heal. Yes I know they are working on cloning body parts to generate missing or damaged organs and I feel that as long as it was never a complete clone it is questionably okay. However, I will say that in the case of both eating a clone or using one to survive a health problem or survivial situation may make me have a change of heart to live. I will say that by all possible means at this time and place I would rather not have clones for medical or food.

pssst, jer72:   remember that jen is a senior citizen so let's cut her some slack.  she's new at this.  I, for one, am enjoying her comments here and there.  She's sort of like Gracie Allen, if you are old enough to remember George and Gracie.

ragmop,

I didn't realize who she was. Since I have not really been reading the blog that often lately I had't seen many of the new faces.

No harm done, jer72.   (and she seems harmless, too)
