I know this sounds cliche but it's the truth. I'm thankful for my family. I have two kids that love both of their parents, they aren't on drugs, they don't drink, they're not trouble makers, they are respectful of others and they even love each other. They may bicker between themselves sometimes but if one is ever being messed with, the other will always come to there defense. Yes my 18 year old just had a baby and is unmarried, but if that's all she's done to disappoint me in almost 19 years, I'm still a lucky guy. Besides, the grandson the came out of that "mistake" erases any ill feelings that she has caused me. I'm also thankful for my new grandson! Although I wasn't ready to become a grandparent at such a young age, I've accepted it and I've learned to embrace it.  I have much more to be thankful for but this was the first thing that came to mind.

I'm thankful for my awesome family and friends.  I'm thankful I live in America. I am thankful that we have civil rights and that we are now paving the way for a more loving and united America.  I am also thankful that I have a nice home and a wonderful view of the world right out my front window.  I love life!!!!!

Well said Sparks. Add my name your list of things too. I like those.

Blaze, better she is a single mom with a wonderful daddy like you, than married to a jerk.   As I have said before, I believe your children are very lucky to have you and wish more parents were as understanding of real life as you are.

Should I call you grampa now?  (sticking my tongue out at ya)

Jokingly before the baby was even born I said I was going to have him call me G. Kind of has a double meaning, as in wasup G! or G could be short for grandpa. So take your choice...I'm ok with either :-)

I am thankful for each and every breath I take. For my loving and faithful husband and my incredibly beautiful (although fractious) kids. I am especially thankful that my sweet and caring sister-in-law is still hanging tough in spite of having had a level 3 stroke this weekend, two surgeries and another one scheduled for tomorrow. I'd be thankful if anyone who is so inclined could please send prayers (or your own approximation thereof) out to Lala in San Diego.

SPAM CODE: OOOXS (I can never remember which is a hug and which is a kiss...Oh well, I guess I'm sending three of one, and one of the other atch'yall)

sushisoo where in San Diego is she?

posted by sushisoo on Jul 22, 2008 at 04:04 PM

She lives in Chula Vista, Jewels. My brother-in-law said she is at "Shaw" hospital (?). My husband went down yesterday to be with her and to help the family. Her son is due back from Iraq late tonight and my other in laws are also en route to your neck of the woods.

Maybe Sharp Hospital or Scripps?  Let me know if they need anything while they are down here.  I work during the week but I am available  on the weekends.  Not sure what I can do, but am willing to help if they need it.

Thanks Jewels, you're an angel. It must be Sharp Hospital...my brother in law is from Laawwwnnng Eyelandah, and my husband has hearing issues. Not all just selective (LOL...really loud). I may come down there when Lala improves (Please, Lord!). For now, I think it's best to keep my small kids out of the hectic family mix. If I get down there, I'll try to look you up, my generous and beautiful butterfly.  If so, I'll be sure to see if your son has some new little angel pix to send south.
