Why delete other peoples blog comments????
I just wondered what the point of these blogs is. I understand that we all have different views and I have seen some pretty heated discussions on this blog site. I recently responded to one of the lengthy blogs, which by the way i dont usually read. It was regarding the Killer Kern. I was not disrespectful except when i told him maybe he needed to prop his eyes open (open his mind), which really isn't disrespectful...just my opinion. Anyway, he deleted all of my comments and only kept the positive comments to his blog. Why would anyone not allow others to voice their opinions, which by the way mine all had valid points. Closed mindedness? Hmmm.

Now, I myself have been tempted in the past to delete comments, but if you want to play on the grownup blogs, you have to act like a grownup in return. No chickening out when you get a little sting. posted by

I had the same experience with the author on the Killer Kern blog. I had specifically disagreed with his premise in one or two areas and also questioned the level of expertise to make certain assertions, but it was not a personal attack. Some folks take really extreme positions on some issues, and the risk in taking such a position (as the author in question sometimes does) is a failure to listen. It appears that author has succumbed to that risk and deletes posts in the name of "personal attack."

I feel the Weedpatch Gazette is really the product of arrogance and ego. If anyone disagrees with the author's views, the author accuses them of personal attacks and then deletes their comments. I will say this: the author really loves it when you agree with him. At any rate the document is product of a fairly narrow view and some narrow-mindedness, but what can you expect from a "fringe" product that has little literary value. P.S. The author deleted my reposts AFTER he had commented (and kept his comments).......truly sad.

And a teacher? what was taught, not to listen to anyone elses point of view. CLOSE YOUR MIND AND KEEP YOUR BLINDERS ON? Didnt he warn his students about the machinery in shop class? It is after all a teachers job to guide and teach.... posted by

I think the Editor here ought to make a change. I don't think ANY OF US should have the power to Delete someone else's comments. We can Delete our own, perhaps. And the Editor can Delete any of ours on the basis of "profanity or personal attacks" be we should not be given the right or authority to censor someone else's written opinion's. Carin, are you reading this? Jim Richards

Wow! Jewels, you are right. I had not checked that. It must have been a standard practice for him to delete things he grossly disagreed with based on accusation of personal attack. I agree 100% with Jim. We should stand up for what we write. I realize that one can post "anonymously" (and that is another topic for discussion--I don't think that should be allowed--just like you have to sign letters to the editor!), but even those posts (if allowed) should not be able to be deleted.

In my OPINION, its called Sams "Bill of Rights" and #1 is "Freedom of Deletion!" and #2 is "The right to use your fingers to tell your opinion and his to delete them."

Simply stating Jewels-He makes his own rules in Sam States of America AKA "Weedpatch Gazette" I completely agree with you. Don't say something if you cant take the either Positive or Negative feedback.
