John Mcgrew sentencing for Child molestation continued?

So...the saga continues.  Mr. Mcgrew's court date was yesterday.  It looks like he filed a motion to continue sentencing.  But there is no future court date.  Did Tehahcapi News manage to make it to this hearing?  Did Tehachapi News get any photos as promised?  Please let me know

This is for your jewels since I know how important it is to you.
-Carin Enovijas, Tehachapi News Editor.

According to Assistant District Attorney John Somers, defense counsel for John Earl McGrew was granted a continuance for the Jan. 16  sentencing hearing due to a death in counsel's family. The sentencing hearing has been rescheduled for Jan. 25 at 8:30 a.m. in Department 11 of the Bakersfield Superior Court.
On Nov. 17, McGrew plead guilty to one count of a lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14-years-old, which according to California Penal Code 288(A) carries a penalty of lifetime registration as a convicted sex offender.

jewels, although I have no problem publishing a picture of McGrew - or any other felon - if or when a legitimate photo becomes available, I must remind you that  I never promised to publish his photo.
Here is my response to your earlier post on this topic - which still reflects the
News' policy on this matter:

The Tehachapi News will publish a “mug shot” or a photo of a verifiable court appearance courtesy of the Kern County Sheriff’s Department when it is made available for publication. On occasion we have the good fortune of having a freelancer or other contributor in the right place at the right time. At this point in time, it just not possible for a paper of our size to cover everything that happens in such a growing and increasingly active community, without the invaluable contributions of the community itself.

To all you Tehachapi lynchers out there regarding John Mcgrew, well he is my uncle. I know its very easy for you to say "get 'em" or lock him up for life! Well maybe you better think of the people that have been locked up for most of their life then released because with new tech age they were proven innocent later through DNA testing or whatever.
Trust me, i am not defending him. I was just told not too long ago about his divorce and how he moved in with my 80+ year old grandma   (which if any of you mess with her house thinking you will hurt John) well then you will have another whole story to be writing about!
I was not told by my family of anything that has been going on. But i knew something had to have happened because of all the secrets. When i asked about him and how he was doing all i got was you don't want to know. Now i have never been close to my uncle John seeing him once every 5 years or so if that. But as part of my family i always want to know how someone is doing. Well we ended up finding out through this website what was going on and i still don't have what actually happened. Who the victims were and who came forward. Did he really do it? or because of the family feuds leading to divorce did someone set him up and say these things happened? I personally feel if he pleaded guilty to one count then obviously he did it, 'cause i wouldn't have plea bargained away a lighter sentence by admitting something i didn't do just to get a reduced sentence if he was being set up.
My uncle was brought up in a Christian, hard working home. You can't say he had a rough childhood or bad parents that abused him....my memories growing up when we were around him were all good and fun memories and that is how i will keep it. I don't want this to be true but it seems to be so. You all live in a small town setting, you old timers there would probably have seen John grow up helping my Grandpa build homes, lay carpet, and always involved at church, good people. Don't let John ruin their reputation because of his actions. John knows that if this is his doing he will pay when he sees his maker.
I just wanted to know how he was that's all, i guess like my mom said...don't ask you don't want to know!

One last thing, for you who live there when you see my grandma around..don't point and talk..imagine her pain and embarrassment, instead help her, smile at her and be kind to her..this is not easy for her i couldn't imagine..what if your "normal" kid did this someday......think about it!

According to the website for the courts he pled guilty to one count of lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14, and he was sentenced to 3 years but served 3 days, and has to register as a sex offender, please correct me if I am wrong. In my opinion the justice system was way to " soft " on this man. 3 days in prison compared to a lifetime of suffering for the victim is not fare.

Anonymous I feel your Grandmother and your family and I hope in time things get better. But I also feel for the victim and the victim's family it is going to be a lifetime sentence for them that hopefully time will help heal.

why did he only serve 3 days? why with all the costs of punishing my uncle to prison would he be let out after 3 days? that doesn't seem normal? thanks for the info...like i said my family won't say anything.

3 DAYS?  No he served 3 days in County Jail before they transfered him to State Prison.  As far as i know..  eek, are you sure?  It will only show on the kern website how  much time he spent in the county jail.

I was not sure jewels that is why I said correct me if I am wrong.. The website really did not specify too much, so I was not 100% positive. I just hope it was not only 3 days.
