TONIGHT'S THE BIG NIGHT, PEOPLE!
Tonight is not the night to stay home! And when you come to the City Council meeting don't sit on your hands. Participate! Coucilmember Beckham will introduce 3 Resolutions (see my previous Blog and thread about the fireworks) which will change City politics forever. A change for the better. Once introduced, the Council will have 2 choices to make. They can vote them into law immediately...or they can pass the buck to US by voting to put it on the November, 2008 ballot. That will effectively put it off for a year and a half and cost the taxpayers (US) a bundle of money. Which choice do YOU want them to make? Let them know! Let's pack that room tonight. Let's get back to our roots. It's called a Citizen Legislature! Jim Richards

Is there anyone out there that can give us an update? I am bummed I wasn't able to make it. I'm really interested to see how things went.

I'm going to post my impression of last night's meeting as a new blog later today. I've got to get my head cleared first. I can't believe what they said. I can tell you this much, it was disgusting. A TRAVESTY! An INJUSTICE! A set up of four Council members solidly against Beckham's proposals. They came down on him like a ton of bricks. It was all pre-arranged and I was prohibited from saying one single word in defense of his propositions. You won't believe what Deborah Hand said....but I'll tell you in the blog. If we don't replace a lot of them (or ALL of them) in the next election, we are doomed to continue the transgressions of the past with these people who, with their own private agenda's, are leading us down the garden path! If we don't replace them....then we DESERVE them. That's pretty much what Phil Smith (with his 20+ years on the Council) said. Jim Richards
