VENEZUELAN TERRORIST CAMPS!
Like Iraq and Afghanistan, our borders only get worse by the day. The only people who seem to care about it is The Minutemen and the American Public! Our so-called Legislators are only interested in their own pork barrel projects, which of course, wind up in their pockets.

Most of the 911 terrorist came across via the Canadian border or came in on legitimate visas. One thing for sure the "illegals" from the south are not going ANYWHERE ever so get used to it! There is so much wrong propaganda against the illegal working force. If you want to deport illegals then arrest and jail each and every employer where they are found. If this happens change will happen overnight. The fact is that each and every one of you benefits from illegal low paid workers. What do you think the cost to you is based on your total taxes paid each year for problems with illegal immigration? How much do you save at that clean hotel, restaurant, new home, grocery store, on the backs of illegals? I guarantee all of you have a net gain over the "burden of illegal immigration." What do you think the cost is due to the Iraq war? Where is the bigger problem? I guess as long as your squabbling about "illegals" you wont notice being completely taken by big business and big government. The reason why allot of you are baffled here is because the leaders of this nation have already figured out that Illegals benefit the whole rather than tear it down. They also know that with the current Latino population and the numbers they will generate in the future that politically they need to represent the majority. I for one will never vote for any politician who is against the immigrant peoples here and neither will my family or children or children's children, but rest assured we all will vote. This is understood among Latinos. I voted Bush in 2000 due to his family ties, statements, and relations with Mexico. I believed he understood and wouldn't allow policy to hurt the people coming here simply to work. There are places where walls were built (Berlin) and in the end walls never work and are torn down. Do we want a sad fragment of a wall to represent our failure of understanding the human experience of a person leaving home and loved ones, to a better life. Remember who the illegal terrorist were in the eyes of the true Native Americans wounded knee, trail of tears, forced education, reservations, shame on this intolerant hypocritical American culture posted by

You are talking about costs that can not be calculated just like the total sum of the taxes deducted from illegal paychecks can not be calculated. The very same rag paper (Bakersfield Californian) had an article stating that statistically immigrants are less prone to crime than native born Americans. You contradict yourself saying they cost society but if they leave and take money with them will hurt the housing market. My point exactly these people work, buy homes and products, and most pay taxes with the same paycheck deductions that you experience and can not escape. For the sons of Texas it was ok for their immigrant ancestors to give birth to citizens but not for these peoples? Bottom line they are not going anywhere and should not have to. Those opposed to immigrants will be the only ones frustrated. Like I said shame on this intolerant hypocritical American culture.

Comments about illegals coming across the Canadian border are correct. However, the Arab terrorists coming across our Mexican border can do it much easier because they are dark skinned like Mexicans and can assimilate there more easily. All the have to do is grow a mustache and learn ten words of Spanish and..Bingo! They are being trained in Venezuela and get all the fake documents they need there. Again, it's NOT the hard working Mexicans who just want a better life for themselves and their families....it's the TERRORISTS! The corrupt Mexican governments could stop it all overnight by just giving their citizens decent jobs with decent pay in their own country, but that won't happen in my lifetime....or yours! 1644, for your information in the 80s the IRS went to places who typically hire illegals and issued tax payer Ids not social security numbers to employers so that the government can collect taxes from illegal work forces. The other fact about taxes as you know is that all large employers, i.e. Bolthouse farms, Grimway farms, restaurants, hotels chains, all take taxes out of your check off the top. Weather it’s a made up social or not the IRS will get its money and a great many more illegals contribute than not. A great many more never receive anything in return for those taxes because they are too afraid to go to the hospital or apply for deserved unemployment benefits. Your comment about fraud in the tax system assumes that all "illegal" immigrants are dishonest and that’s a comment based on false news reports (Fox, Lou Dobbs) and racial bias not fact. Please stop believing everything your read and see on T.V. and take the time to go to the fields or packing houses or construction sites and talk to these people. I would submit to you the idea that the largest tax evaders and tax fraud is committed by big business and your average middle class persons, did you really give $2,000 dollars to your local charities? With an average tax liability of around $20,000 dollars per household (just an average figure) that about maybe $10 dollars or less of that money is spent on problems associated with "illegal immigrants." Thats .0005% of your taxes. The bulk of the waste you are so worried about is spent on pork barrel good old boy politics, the war, and the welfare state of people who’d never travel thousands of miles to toil and work hard. I guarantee you one trip to the grocery store will off set the money you spent via your taxes on immigration problems. The myth that Illegals are a burden on the system is just that a myth propagated by "news" with political bias and people with racial bias. Calling for immediate jailing or deportation for the crime of illegal immigration is like calling forJay Walkers to suffer the same fate. This is not thumbing your nose at laws its calling a system broke and in need of change. In the early history of this country it was legal law to own a slave. Did this law deserve respect just because it was law? Today we have an entire segment of our society who are working class slaves due to broken policy and cooperate greed. Please stop propagating the myths that you are paying for education, medical, housing, jailing and so for illegals. My experience with this broken system started with grandparents who were illegal. I watched my grandmother work in the packing houses and eventually die due to the pesticide exposure on the crops she packed. The packing house and farmers had no liability in this but people still had oranges for less than .25 cents. Believe me when i say that the illegal immigrant experience is not one filled with comforts and free handouts. My experience also comes from many associations with farmers and field workers and how that relationship works. Growing up with Illegal grandparents, a father who was legal by birth right, was a great experience. In just two generations my sister and i both have masters degrees have land parcel holdings and are generally successful. No one in our growing up or adult life gave us anything we worked for it. Is this what people are afraid of, having to compete with hard working people? After I have made American money I will sell everything Hopefully to a developer who will build KB homes or something like that and take it all back to Mexico. Most illegals really want to work and to go home with safety and security. This broken system does not allow people to work with dignity, make a fair wage then go home and come back safely when the grapes need picking. We need a comprehensive guest worker program. Build a wall, pass laws, do whatever you think will help but i will submit to you that nothing, NOTHING will stop the undeniable human spirit to better your life which is prevalent in these people who travel so far to work so hard.

I agree with almost everything you had to say. Almost! But here is the other side of the coin that you are ignoring, because there really are TWO sides to this issue. According to DOJ statistics: Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States' annual population growth (and over 90% of California, Florida , and New York ) results from immigration. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens. And there is more but I see that you don't much care about the other side. Unlike my forefathers from Italy who just wanted to stay here permanently and assimilate into the American culture, YOU want to go back to Mexico. So do most (not all) of the others I know. Fine, make your money here and take it back to Mexico. All you will do is continue to foster their corrupt governments over and over and over and nothing will ever change. Either HERE...or THERE! Could you provide a link to these statistics. Ive seen others that are oposite, how can you collect welfare if your illegal. People do not come thousand of miles to lay on a couch and collect welfare. Mrs Richards taking your money elswhere does nothing to foster a corrupt government. Our government is as corrupt as they come. My grandparents wanted to stay here too. I also love this country but am afraid of what it has become.

"In the early history of this country it was legal law to own a slave. ... Today we have an entire segment of our society who are working class slaves due to broken policy..." Slaves? Really now, no one is forcing illegals to slither across the border and come here to work. No one is forcing illegals to do anything here, yet. They came here of their own free will to escape a cr*ppy country, which is fine, but they do it illegally which is wrong. Is anyone forcing them to stay illegal? I don't think so. Why do you feel it is OK to stay illegal? Is it OK for anyone from any country in the world to come here illegally, or is it just OK for Mexicans because this territory once belonged to Mexico? Your mind set is pretty amazing. Maybe we should give California back to Mexico, then they can drive it into the toilet like the rest of the country. Then there won't be any desire to come here anymore. posted by

Thanks, GregL. You said it all! This person doesn't believe ANYTHING Lou Dobbs says so I guess he must believe EVERYTHING that Sean Penn says. It is clear that his mind is closed and he is not interested in anyone else's point of view. He asked the source authority for my statistics and I told him it was DOJ. Maybe he didn't understand, that is the United States Department of Justice. However, he won't believe them either. He only believes in his OWN point of view and the rest of us can go to hell. Very well said Jim, I guess if your down to personal attacks then ive won the debate. I understood what doj stands for and I'm still waiting for a link to all this correct information you point to. However statistics lie and liars give statistics. If you really believe only 2% are picking our crops then take just a 15 min. drive to Arvin and take a survey of those in the fields your doj 2% will turn into a 95%. I understand your view point I just think its wrong so don't call me closed minded just open your mind and argue your point. Greg L, by not having a guest worker program in this country the people who come here are working under a type of modern day slavery. Why don't you think policy is changed? because it will force big business to pay a fair wage. I really think Lou Dobbs is an idiot and so is Sean Penn I think for myself based on personal experience. Not a conservative or liberal ideology that i will blindly follow. What personal experience have you two men had with Mexicans that makes you hate them so much? What personal negative impact have you suffered at the hands of an illegal immigrant? Really how does a person working in the fields affect your personal daily life? Mexico is not really the problem most Illegal immigrants come from countries like Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama, Chile, Belize, Mexico is just the crossing point. Its no wonder why the U.S. has spread so much distaste around the world people here can not even tolerate neighboring countries. Think about the future disdain for America the people south of our border will have for us. So Jim your right maybe terrorist will be our worry if the Mexicans get sick of this kind of blatant racism. I give America a max of 100 more years at best the entire world will be tired of this kind of crap you spew. Just sit in your home built by illegals, shop in the store stocked by illegals, eat at the restaurant run by illegals, stay in the hotel cleaned by illegals and be happy that those people are here to do the work that the lazy fat Americans not only will not do but can not do. Greg you call Mexico a toilet wow what great worldly insight you have, have you ever even traveled outside the U.S. ? Argue about it, blog about it, gnash your teeth about it, but WE ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE! posted by

Hello sparks, I feel that if we had a consumer tax in this country the middle wouldn't blame the lower class. Think about it a flat 10% consumer tax would hit everyone, the person on welfare buying shoes at the store and the big companies buying product. O and yes each and every of those illegal people. The problem with a consumer tax (for the rich) is that allot of cooperation's would pay 10% more than they do now. This legal vs illegal immigration debate needs to take into account the human price of all this. For those of you who believe in God, how would Jesus treat the illegals? Its funny to me that right wing Christian conservatives love war and hate their fellow man. How backwards have we become?

I don't think anyone on here hates anyone because of their race or being illegal immigrants. I feel by you saying something like that is hateful. I would say 99% of the people who use this website are quite the opposite, they are all very wonderful people who care about everyone no matter what religion or color of skin. The thing I think they do not like is people coming to our country illegally, it is their actions that make us mad. I personally do not have a problem with someone coming to this country with hopes of a better life but do it legally, obey the laws of the land.

Sol2ride hmmm I like the flat 10% consumer tax idea. I'm not religious, but I think Jesus had more compassion for our fellow man than we do. I'm not saying send all the illegals back to Mexico, I know some have family and loved ones born here. I know some have lived here for over a decade and have done much work for our country. I don't want Americans to treat illegals like crap. This is not a racist issue for me. I just want our borders secure because I don't think it's ok for anyone to come here illegally and I certainly don't want terrorist crossing the border. I think that we should treat the people who are living in our country now with compassion. Absolutely. I would hope most agree. posted by
