Fact or fabrication?
The recent comments, allegations and thinly veiled animosity directed at Tehachapi Hospital Healthcare District and its Board of Directors cannot be allowed to go unchallenged.
One of the critics of both the TVHD Board and the TUSD Board has never attended a board meeting and knows only what he is told by his "grapevine". Those are good only for growing grapes. Charges and allegations should always contain substantiated facts and figures. Then we have the "More sirens and alarms" letter attacking the Board in a very sarcastic, uninformed manner. This sort of disparaging "sour grapes" commentary is destructive, counter-productive and eliminates any credibility the writer may have possessed. Third hand hearsay from an anonymous "someone in a position to know" is merely gossip and should be discarded with yesterday’s trash.
It is interesting that the leadership qualities of the new hospital CEO were completely ignored in favor of rag sheet gossip. In the same issue of the Tehachapi News, Alan Burgess provided important current factual information to this community. His statements contradict the comments made by an individual that seems to gather her information via osmosis.
If you wish to have accurate information, attend the TVHD Board meetings, ask for facts and support this community’s efforts to build the best possible hospital and healthcare system now and for the future. Get on board or get off the tracks!

I agree with this writer. And it goes for ANYONE posting a blog here. Everyone is certainly entitled to their own OPINION. But, without substantiating fact, figures and especially Source Authority, their posting becomes just that...an opinion! Readers can use their own common sense to verify and otherwise check out any allegations. Frankly, I wouldn't want Alan Burgess's job for a million dollars. He is now being held accountable for all the past errors, mistakes and incompetence of the past three administrations of the Tehachapi Hospital. It will take time and he will need all the support we can give him in order for us all to realize the dream of a new; state of the art hospital. I know he is working very hard to this end and rather than detract from his efforts we need to show him we appreciate his efforts and give him all the assistance we can. Jim Richards

I agree with Jim about not wanting Alan Burgess job - I may have missed some items in the paper or here with the blog bunch, but so far as I know , no one has made any nasty remarks about Alan and his abilities. He is a very pleasant personality, and from what I have seen and heard (ah, yes -there is that nasty old gossip again) he has made a very good impression on the people who work with him at the Hospital. I do volunteer in the facility and speak to and hear comments from the people who work there He certainly is not accountable for events that occurred before he took the positon of CEO - that is simpy silly.
