Over a 100 Horse's rescued
Turn on your volume.........this is spectacular. You may have heard about the herd of horses that were trapped for 3 days on a tiny piece of land in wind and rain in the Netherlands a short while ago? They were trapped on a small piece of land, surrounded by water. Their natural instincts kept them from swimming to solid land, from their tiny perch. There were about 100 horses huddled together against the wind and water. The Nation was mesmerized watching this drama as 18 of the horses perished, while others were slowly weakening. First the fire department, then the Dutch army, tried to rescue them - both efforts were unsuccessful. Then, with a break in the weather, the water level went down and four women hatched a plan to attempt a rescue by luring the horses into the water. Here's a video of the successful rescue. I was very touched as I watched the video of these magnificent animals being saved. I hope you enjoy this uplifting video. http://video.google.nl/videoplay?docid=-4584913278289860160

I have a rescue horse... there is nothing quite like the feeling you get from rescuing a horse.  Imagine, these people got to rescue over a hundred horses.  Must have felt VERY GOOD!!!

Yes. I have seen that video before, and it is really cool! Figures the horses would follow the other ones, and it just took the humans a while to figure it out.

I like your blog photo, is your horse a straight paint or a spotted draft? He/she looks big for a paint.  I have 2 drafts, and an Arabian at home. Funny I never would have gotten into the big horses until I started visiting United Pegasus, and helping out.  There is something really docile about the draft and draft crosses that I love. I appreciate all horses ,though, and would have one of every kind if I could.

Thanks for the cool video!

I am glad you all have enjoyed the video as much as I did. ChrsitineFroehlich this horse actually belongs to my cousin, she lets me ride him when ever I want, his name is Apache and he is a Mustang paint. The photo makes him look bigger than what he is. They have another two other paints one is the same size and also a Mustang and the other is twice the size of them. I like your photo to. All horses are so beautiful and such great animals.
