After reading some past blogs I was quite shocked to learn that things at the hospital have improved for the employees. As an employee of the hospital for many years I have to say that I have noticed absolutely zero change since the grand jury investigation. The internal problems continue and the administration continues to have blatant disregard for their employees or at the very least for the employees who aren't busy kissing their butts 99% of the time. Most recently I was shocked at administration's new policy to bring in new employees to certain departments without so much as consulting with the department managers or even having an interview conducted. How are actions like this supposed to increase the morale among employees when they're telling their own supervisor's that they are only good for being blamed for the bad stuff but not good enough to decide who they hire for their departments? I wonder how the general public would feel knowing that clinical staff taking care of them was determined to be 'appropriate' for the job based on their opinions and not on them actually being interviewed for the position. Basically, the message I have gotten from it is "we don't give a damn about the department or current employees as long as we can meet our own self-serving needs."

I initially thought that a new CEO would be a positive thing for the employees of the hospital but have since changed my mind. At least with Ray Hino when I concern was brought up he would discuss it with the employee (even if nothing ever came of it) but the new CEO doesn't seem to care to pretend like he gives a damn. The internal politics that go on with the administration at this hospital are ridiculous. I think what they failed to realize was when the grandjury came back saying there were problems they were actually talking about the administration. By the way, can anyone tell me why the lower members of the administration get to dictate to the higher ups how things are going to be? One of the only members of administration I ever saw actually stand-up for the employees and try to do something right by the employees was Joanne Kramer and they (admin) made sure they chased her right out of there. It's amazing how they get rid of those who aren't going along with the 'rules' of their world. At any other hospital this would never happen but for some reason our hospital has 'special' rules....

This is news to me. I would like to hear more from you, as would many of us "ordinary" citizens. This is especially important now that the doctors are the majority of the Board. They could really make it self serving! What do you think of the CAC? Can it be turned into some sort of "watchdog" group? If so, I would be glad to join and become an active member and listen to BOTH sides.
