Where's the online news?
Has anyone else noticed that this weeks paper still isn't on the website? I no longer live in town, so I rely on reading the paper online each week and am disappointed to see that for some reason there are only 3 news articles this week. 26 comments from 12 users

There seems to be a general lack of news in general......anything deemed "controversial" seems to evade the newspaper as well as the blog site.....

The TN has gone down the drain .........awsmom is right that the TN doesn't want to print anything controversial and when the do they lock the comment thread so no one can comment. It appears that who ever is in charge of the paper is in way over his head or just doesn't have big enough testicles to print the news. posted by

Because it seems to me that the editor of the TN doesn't think much of this web site or the bloggers that post on it. The only time the editor did respond on this site he basically insulted us. In the past if a blogger ask the TN a question the Editor would come on here and answer that question. Now all questions fall on deaf ears. Before all articles had a comment thread, not anymore. The News stories are now basically non-existent. Maybe the TN is going broke and they need the sales from the papers......What ever the reason its sad to see what was once a good site go down the drain. posted by

"basically insulted us" -- ooh boy gube, what would it take for you to feel extra-insulted? He called us a bunch of creeps! ...and that burns me, because only a few of us are creeps...

I'm not bashing TN--just making a comment on what I see has been happening the past 3-4 mths. I very much appreciate them for allowing us to use this blog site--I even thanked them yesterday on one of the Canine Creek blogs. But I do feel a little constructive criticism is in order--keeps them on their toes! Too bland of a newspaper bores readers which equals to less readers and less advertising equals a small town paper closing. When you can't find out what is going on around town in the the local newspaper, even if it is controversial, drives subscribers away.

The Tehachapi News has been a wonderful resource in our quest to reunite lost pets with their owners here in Tehachapi, and I'm grateful they provide the blogs that allow us to do that. Last week alone, SIX dogs (that I know of) made it home safely. I agree that the news has been a little light in the recent past, but pershaps that's a GOOD thing. Reported news is generally of the bad sort, and who needs more of that? :-) posted by

Didn't the Tehachapi News change editors in the past year or so (perhaps my timing is off)? It appears the publication quality has gone down the drain (at least for on-line postings, current news and responding to questions). I am sure we can always find, or create, a blog for Tehachapi related comments, but it is convenient for the TN to have this blog. However, the recalcitrance of the TN staff to respond to questions regarding policy on locking out comments on articles demonstrates an arrogance beyond belief. It is almost like they are above it all. As perveyers of first ammendment interaction, the editor and staff should demonstrate a conduct more becoming of their profession. To not post current news is an abdication of responsiblity. Shame on you Tehachapi News. Please explain or otherwise mitigate these views. posted by

The reason the Tehachapi News no longer lets you guys make post on news stories is because a few of us sh*tbirds make personal attacks on people. Us the bloggers and the type of post we make is the reason this site has gone to hell. Have any of you ever seen a nice positive post made by the likes of gube aka BD? How about from soupwater? I haven't!!!! Do you guys think its fair for the TN to have someone monitor this site 24/7 to make sure the rules are being followed? I don't!! I for one would like to see this blog go away! Maybe gube would stop living off his wife and get a job. As for this weeks newspaper not being posted online, well officially the paper comes out on Wednesday. As of this Wednesday most of the real paper was posted online. If I was the TN I wouldn't post any stories on here till Friday, that way people would buy the paper!!! The Tehachapi News is not required to post their paper online! They are not required to have a blog page for us to cry on! Its an extra service being provided by them out kindness. There is very little advertisement on this site so I am sure its not making them any money. I am sure it is however occupying most of their time........... If you don't like this site then go away and let the good people come back....... If you have a question you think the TN should answer go to the "contact us" button at the top of the page and ask them. If you have an idea about a story let them know. Better yet write your own story and see if they will print it. It is my understanding that the TN has been advertising for reporters for many months now. Maybe they are short handed. Maybe gube and soupwater could get a job as reporters. They sure have a lot of extra time on their hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!
