That's nice that they have good food. the downtown area will be better served. My wife works in the down town area and will enjoy another choice of restaurant to choose from. That being said they are still responsible for the appearance of the building and should be made to fix the eye sore that never should have been allowed to be ran outside their building. Obviously the people who installed the duct work had no idea what they were doing. I urge you to call the city and complain,I will be.

The razor wire at Tehachapi Art Center has been there for years.  It used to be a wind farm (STS) garage. I'm sure Mel kept it up for the reason matokanji stated.

I'm glad to hear the new deli has good food because that venting outside leaves a lot to be desired!  I pass it nearly everyday as I live on East F St.

I am glad to hear the positives on this place. I love food from all over the world and I am glad that it is not another bad Mexican restaurant. Also, thanks to picturethis for bringing this blog back to where I wanted it to go (about the deli). As for ProgressoDasani, welcome to the real world. The Art Center puts on events several times a year with many local artists displaying their wares in the outdoor area over the weekend. Since we do not live in Fantasy Land, there has to be some security measures to protect the thousands of dollars worth of items from thieves that could simply jump the fence.

I must agree with picturethis. The food IS good, and available after most movies.

Thanks, I'll definitely have to give it a try now.

We've eaten there 3 times and the food was excellent every time
and the pricing is quite reasonable. Recently someone wrote in
complaining about all the taco places, you no longer are limited to tacos.
The owners are real friendly and the place is very clean, a real
nice experience. I wouldn't let the duct work keep you from
trying the food or it's your loss.

Are they trying to keep the artists in or out?

I understand the guard tower is going in next.

Man, that is one UGLY vent.  Who approved that permit, anyway?

One the other hand, its good to see that ol' Tehachapi still exists under that new fancy brick facade.  Its good for laugh - after you check out the warehouse vent job, swing over the Art Center and check out the razor wire!

That's the Eye Sore that i blogged about. Has anyone noticed the ugly grease duct coming out the side of the building. With all the money being spent fixing up the down town i was surprised to see such ratty work. I don't know how that passed inspection. Hiner needs to stop cutting down the lilac bushes and start doing his job.
