Can too many Starbucks cause a heart attack???
I am completely addicted to Starbucks....Their pricey coffee is absolutely the best thing ever. I can't help it. Everyday....A Venti Quad 2 pump Iced Caffe Mocha no whip please. As a matter of fact my husband just bought be a tall regular coffee and it's just soooo much better than what comes from my coffee pot. does anyone have an expresso machine for sale? I was told today at work that I was gonna have a heart attack from all the extra shots of expresso I get. I don't think that's true; But after my first heart attack, maybe I'll consider dropping a couple of shots.

A shot of espresso actually has less caffeine than a regular drip-brewed cup of coffee. The idea of espresso is to fully extract the oils which carry the coffee flavor out of the grounds as quickly as possible to avoid bitterness. The result is not as much of the caffeine is extracted. Four shots may be a little more than a 16 oz brewed, but not too much. Go to www.wholelattelove.com to get a machine. I'd recommend the Gaggia Espresso as a good starter. posted by

To add to what Perdurabo said. Its "Iced" Coffee. Which means it gets diluted even more by the water in the ice = even less caffeine!!! Olivia, I sure there some people in your area that will have a heart attack way before you do. Their diets are horrible!!! Although a Venti Iced Cafe Mocha (without the double shots) from Starbucks has 8g of fat, 290 Calories, 20mg Cholesterol, 105mg of Sodium, 37g sugar and 265mg of caffeine! just to cover the basics. And thats with 2% milk and NO whip. Have a good One Olivia!!!! see you at Starbucks!!!!

Hey Jewels, how ya doin??? Long time no hear. Hope all is good with you. Iced coffee at mcD? I've thought about it a couple of times but not sure how it comes. Do you special order it with what you want in it? I know it will cost me 1/2 of what I'm paying now. I have a serious addiction here. posted by

I'm obviously just catching up from being busy for a few days and found this...... OLIVIA!!! WHY DID YOU DOOOOO THIS TO ME??? I was trying to quit. Dammit. I must have the Yemen Mocha. Dammit dammit dammit!!! You're an evil woman, you! There are two things that I am just freakin' bonkers about: the wind industry and COFFEE. God, I can't wait until it delivers. Did you order anything or are you just drooooling? posted by

I will do that... I was vvvvvvverrrrry disappointed in a pound of Kona I bought once, and haven't splurged since then, but these prices are pretty reasonable (unlike that damn Kona I bought). If this one is no good, I'm giving up and am just gonna keep brewing my own the old fashioned way (which is to pack ABSOLUTELY as much coffee as I can get into the little filter-holder-chingasa, then add about three cups of water, brew, and presto! Yes, I go through a lot of coffee machines, but I can't bring myself to pay a bunch of money for an espresso machine). posted by

Ha! A girl after my own heart!! I checked out the expresso machines, while in the long run I may save a ton....I can't make myself buy a "coffee pot" for the money they want. And yes...if this is really as good as they make it sound it absolutely will be worth it. We'll see!! posted by

Yeah, last time I looked anything that appeared to be worth a darn was running for anywhere between $500 and $1k. Forget that! I will keep cramming a half pound of coffee into one filter holder thingy, and putting minimal water in. I've had really good luck with the coffee maker I have right now. It's a Mr. Coffee with the timer feature where you can set it to brew before you get up in the morning (or night, if you're an off-shifter). I think this one has held-out the longest. I really need to put a warning sign on my coffee maker. Unsuspecting guests have been a bit surprised when they poured themselves a cup of coffee before. The first sign of a problem should have been the sludge that poured into their cups, but hey...
