New Hall Ambulance Station
Shane recently questioned if the new Hall Ambulance Station was up and running. The answer is yes! As of the week of September 12th a new station was added on Woodford-Tehachapi Rd. The representative from Hall ambulance was at the Council Meeting on Monday night to follow-up on some complaints raised by Mrs. Socorro Schmidt. Hall ambulance acknowledged one instance where they had a disconnect and stated in their letter dated September 12, 2007 that they are adjusting their policies and procedures so that the same circumstance doesn't happen again. If you would like to here what the representative said, you can pick up a CD at City Hall and if you would like to see copies of the correspondense referred to herein please call me at 822-1907. Also, please know that I am working on the Fire contract to enforce the agreement between the City and the County as soon as possible. 10 comments from 5 users

The Hall Ambulance station in Golden Hills is only maned some of the time. Hall is having trouble keeping Paramedics employed. They are going to run it with EMT's only, No Paramedics. They will try to run it with Paramedics when they can get one. Hall added a 2nd ambulance in Fraser Park for a month then removed it after the residents stopped crying about only having one. We will have to see how long this new ambulance will last.

The Mayor shaking hands with county firefighters? Does he like you guys now? Has he finally seen the light and accepted a professional fire dept. in his beloved city? He doesn't have much of a choice now does he. =) posted by

LongTimeResident and Medicone, At the time of the vote the most important issue was getting the City Fire Department quashed. As for the contract, it does provide for more protection and if you folks don't think that is enough we'll renogotiate. Some on the council and our City Manager are whining that we are approaching the County from a position of weakness. I say as long as we are paying them we are always in a position of strength. Negotiation is always a matter of perception on the part of both parties. The party wanting something just has to be the more confident party. As to Hall Ambulance, if any of you know a paramedic that wants to move into the area I would start soliciting them for the spot in Golden Hills, UNLESS there is more to this story. If you are saying that Hall's is refusing to hire a paramedic, then you guys with the inside story should be calling me or e-mailing me. I will hold their feet to the fire if indeed that is what it takes. What do you say? posted by

He doesn't have any Paramedics due to a shortage, and he is not willing to pay then what they are worth. So they go to work for fire departments, or police departments. This 2nd ambulance will go away after he feels we have forgotten. Just like the one in Pine Mt.

Oh and by the way. There would not have been a pic of county firemen shaking the hand of the Mayor, if it was not for the newspaper. The county fire department and the county cops where not invited to the 9-11 memorial. The newspaper saw the county fire guys across the street getting food and went and got them. Is that not a big slap in the face? It is also what hammer is talking about.
