Theft at Tehachapi Art Center

Tehachapi Art Center is sad to report that someone broke into the storage unit at the new TAC location last night and stole a few thousand dollars worth of music equipment.

This equipment was used in the Art Center concert series last summer, and was going to be used for the same thing this summer. It is heavy duty equipment, used for stage shows in the out-of-doors.

Please be on the lookout if someone you know has suddenly started performing with new speakers, new amplifiers, new microphones, new stands, etc., or is trying to sell this sort of thing. And if you suspect someone you know was involved in the theft, please contact the Tehachapi Police Department at 822-2222.

PD-you're making assumptions regarding evidence and fair trial.Yes,I'm just playing around, but in my picture, these participants had of course had all of the pertinent evidence presented and had been found guilty.Maybe TAC put the wire up because they were afraid that someone would break in and steal something.Apparently a valid concern. They shouldn't have to do that, and I don't seriously think that we should hang the little so and sos by any body parts that they may or may not have, but there are few deterrents to crime anymore, and it shows in the attitudes and behaviors of criminals.

Gee Sparks-just when I was going to ask you to document the occasion with some of your artwork!

Gube-grab the umbrella-we've been rained out!

Gube, you and Ginger are way too excited about this hanging boys by the balls thing... it's getting scary.   I almost feel as if I have to let PD slap me back for thinking you two were just playing around....   Don't make me eat crow...it tastes nasty... lol

Sure awsmom - we get to assume anything we want!!  Evidence?  We don't need no steeenking evidence....

But if the jail needs expanding, maybe the razor wire enclosure the Art Center left could be used...it looks the part.

Come on sparks don't rain on our parade lol...............

Nah... the old fashion way didn't work any better, and I like the idea that we are more civilized today.   It is fun talking about it though... lol

Yup-I like the eggs and tomatoes idea too.Wouldn't it be nice if crime victims actually had a chance to do that for "Crime Prevention Week" or something?Sometimes the old fashioned ways seem better!Maybe as part of alternative sentencing....

You know, I think it would be better to hang them by one testicle.  That way they would swing a little when the wind blew instead of just spinning around.

Or, Mountain Festival could have a dunk tank but instead of aiming for a target that would drop them into the tank, it could  be aimed at a critical area.

But I do like the idea of cuffing him and putting him in the parade!  People could throw eggs and rotten tomatoes at him.....hope it was a guy!! I guess we asssume it is.

Yes Ginger those old days..........

posted by GINGER on May 15, 2008 at 10:14 AM

So Gube-I think that the video of that could be sold to people with certain tastes and the money used to reimburse TAC for their losses."Old days"-oh-do you mean when people were "punished" for crimes?like a deterrent? Not rewarded at no cost to themselves with three squares, medical care,TV,gym, and free time to hang with other like-minded individuals?I've heard of those days.

The ''Ball Drop'' should be rated FF for Family Fun. Just like the old day when families would travel for miles and bring picnic lunches to watch the hangings.........Just thinking about it makes me happy. First of all we will enter the thief in the Mountain Festival parade and we'll parade him for all of Tehachapi to see. He'll be shackled at both the hands and the feet and will be led down the parade route by Sparks who will be  dressed from head to toe  in leather. Oh ya sparks will be coaching the thief along with a paddle and a rope tethered to his testicles. Once we reach the gazebo the real fun starts........

Sparks-Oops-I hadn't thought of that! That's a scary mental picture and could be a problem. They'd have to curtain-off the gazebo.Wouldn't want kids watching that.Though maybe just the thought of it would keep some of those older kids a little better behaved.Perhaps you could "warm up" the "participants" with a little slap or two!

PD... don't be so sensitive...  slap,slap... Snap out of it.

I don't know how that felt for you, but it gave me goosebumps.  (grin)

NO I am not into torture...   I just like a little S&M every now and again.   lol

Ginger....  If someone does set up a booth at the festival to display ball dropping will it be rated R, or will the ball droppers be fully clothed?

posted by GINGER on May 14, 2008 at 10:33 AM

Gube-things to do at Mountain Festival! They could call the booth "The Ball Drop"!That's a great fundraising idea-maybe for Planned Parenthood or a similar group!

PD-I have to protest my inclusion on the list of "torture advocates".To the best of my knowledge,I have never online advocated torture and happen to hate the term "bleeding heart".I do agree that that is a rather easy bar to hit in our county.I am all for hanging testicles, but I suspect that testicle-hanging would be a rather inefficient form of torture-intense pain, but ultimately short term.

PD I have noticed they are repairing the gazebo at city park.........Or are maybe their outfitting it for a testicle hanging device? hmmm
