Nice Cat Needs Loving Home
Does anyone want a sweet cat? This cat is 'homeless', and needs to be neutered, but he is the sweetest cat and I simply have no more room for cats in my house! (Or my budget). I believe he was acquired as a kitten by one of my neighbors, and they obviously do not take care of him properly. He started coming to our door last year when he was tiny, and now he's full grown and no one seems to want to claim him. I don't think anyone ever lets the cat indoors, and I feel so bad for him when we have a snowstorm or otherwise bad weather. When it was pouring down rain two nights ago, he was soaking wet and had no shelter. He comes to our door daily, except for when it snows so much that he probably gets 'snowed in' under some rocks or something. He really is a nice cat, and if someone wanted him for an outdoor only cat well.... that is what he's used to! He would have to be kept inside for the 2 to 3 week period following any move, of course. If anyone knows of anyone who could care for him properly, please let me know! Thanks all, and have an excellent weekend. 29 comments from 8 users

Thank you, Luv! I have 5 cats, also, so we're both tapped out on cats! LOL It's so hard to pass up the ones in need. posted by

Hey Trippy, I actually would like to have a couple cats to keep the rodent population down around my property. Do you know if male cats are good hunters? Luv or Weebles maybe you know? posted by

Hey Blaze... that would be awesome if you could give Black Kitty a home... he's such a nice cat! As far as hunting, each cat is different. I know I've seen Black Kitty with a gopher in his mouth before, so he must be good to some extent! My best hunter here now is my oldest male cat. He rocks at getting the gophers! You know, if you decide to take in a cat you have to keep it indoors (or at least in the garage?) for a coule weeks before letting it out so it can acclimate to the smells, etc. ... Cats find their way home by scent, and I've even had a situation where I had a cat find it's way home after 4 days when he was dropped off in a strange neighborhood. (No, I'm not the one who dropped him off, that person no longer lives with me!) Make sure it's ok with your wife, etc... and if you do take him, I'm sure you'd be happy with him! Let me know! :) posted by

Trippy, How can I get in touch with you? This may be the last time I check this blog before we leave for the weekend, so if you don't hear from me till Sunday you'll know why. But I would like to take the cat. If he has had a gopher in his mouth before that's good enough for me! I will keep him in the garage for a couple weeks before I let him roam around. And don't worry, my family is full of animal lovers so he is going to a good home.

Blaze my email address is in my profile, and THANK YOU!! I'll give you my phone number when you email. Canibeyou, you are awesome for taking in the poor kitties who are abandoned. I can't believe anyone would throw a cat out of a car window!! Well, ok, I can believe it, I just don't WANT to believe it. I'll try to get a pic of the cat to post on here. GregL... thanks for the email. I will get around to responding sometime today LOL

Way 2 go Blaze I am sure you will love your new black kitty I would think of getting him neutered so you don't end up with more little black kittys and you can get a discount from the animal shelter. You just call and leave your name and number address etc and let them know you are taking in a stray but woudl like assistance with the neutering they will send you some paper work then you get your appointment at the vet send in the date then they will give you a 15.00 voucher. It makes the total cost at the vet about 25.00. I agree with GregL I think a kitty naming contest is in order my vote for him is simply............... "Blog" posted by

I told my daughter about the idea of a kitty naming contest, and she asked, 'Why can't they just name it Black Kitty?' We've been calling him that since he was a kitten and first started coming around for food and attention. *sigh* He will be missed, but it will be good knowing he has a home and hopefully shelter when the weather is bad. Here he is at the door now! Speak of the.... uhhh.. black kitty! LOL gotta go! posted by

Actually, both male and female cats can be voracious hunters. Hunting is like athletic ability --- some have it, some don't. And neutering cats has no effect on their ability (or desire) to hunt...in case you were wondering. posted by

My female cat Lexee discovered A mouse... But she did not catch it the mouse was already caught in a glue trap she just grabbed the trap and took off with it... We will not discuss what she did with it when she took off...... I think blog is a cute name for the cat., seems appropriate posted by
