National Mission Statement
The following came to me in a e-mail. I agree with it wholeheartedly and would like to see it adopted by us. What do you think.

I"m all for putting an end to the Iraq war in a intelligent and timely manner, and yes, I would like to see us spend more of our money here at home instead of in other countries like China. However, I want to remain friends with all people on this planet. Just because they didn't agree with us when we went to war in Iraq doesn't mean I now HATE them. Heck, I didn't want the U.S. to go to the Iraq war either . I'm not going to alienate other countries, or other people simply because they didn't want to kill people for no good reason. In fact I want to learn from them. I also do not want to drill for oil, I want to spend all the money it would cost us to drill for oil (which would take us almost 10 years to use) on alternative power. I don't want to depend on oil anymore, not from other countries, not even from our own country. I'm GREEN. I am tired of rash decisions. The stupid and greedy "I want it all now despite the consequences" mentality needs to stop. We need to GROW UP. We are not hateful idiots without a clue. We are Americans. Can we have some adults in office with a brain.. Finally, PLEASE? Help the poor and homeless in America? Some even in our own city of Tehachapi CRINGE at the thought of low cost housing and a homeless shelter coming to our town soon.. Some Americans don't want to help other Americans...they want to destroy anyone who is a different religion, a different color, or any American who may be too poor to live near them. lol posted by

Gee Sparks thanks for your kind thoughtful statement. I still think that we are fighting terrorists because they have and want to continue kill us. I think that because they said it. I think that your assessment is "without a clue" but you have every right to speak you mind. Wouldn't be nice if we could "speak our mind without name calling "kinda" vulgarities? posted by

OH PLEASE. You just posted a blog full of vulgarities, Funny how your mind works Robert. Creeps, Hell holes, people that piss us off. Do you even read your own blog? lol You may think I don't have a clue, but the simple fact that your blog suggests a COMPLETE withdraw of the troops in 30 days isn't even feasible... I didn't need to read past that line to know whoever wrote this is an COMPLETE idiot. posted by

If any American president gave a speech like that, filled with incorrect statistics, lies, & hateful rhetoric, we'd be sunk as a country for sure. If someone like that achieved the Oval Office, I'd weep for the intelligence of our people. And then I'd move out of the country, pronto. Foreign aid is equal in amount to the cost of the Iraq occupation? LOL! We could pull out hundreds of thousands of troops & private contractors in 30 days? Impossible, just in equipment requirements to do that job. It took months of preparation to get our troops in place in order to invade, but pullout would be different, how? Alaska oil will provide our country with power for decades? LOL again! Try more like a year, poopsie. I could go on with the problems with this spam, but I'll leave it to the reader to decide which button to click should they also receive this piece of trash. Robert, I suggest you do some research before you post something like this next time. It hurts your credibility when you accept junk like this. posted by

If I heard that speech from a sitting President I'd be signing up with the first militia I could find to overthrow the government. posted by

OK - we heard from the Pacifists (they do sound wound tight don't they?). My crediblity is not so good since I don't agree with them. What will they do to protect American interests? Perhaps like the French and Germans - make deals that make hugh profits. Or like the Russians that will sell their weapons to anyone. Now the English are trying to pacify the terrorist who have repaid that by bombing their transportation system. Or the Spanish who try to get along and have been terrorized also. How about the Dutch who go out of their way to be nice. Oh yeah an author there was executed by a Muslem for saying something that was taken as offensive to Islam. I don't like any radical. But you have to listen and believe them. Or not...... posted by

1) A pull-out from Iraq in that short of time would be a disaster. We got into the mess- make sure it doesn't become another mess all over again. Wait until the Iraqi police forces are trained and ready to take over. IMHO ;) 2) Stand by your allies, but don't pull away from countries that have different opinions than us. France and Germany are wonderful countries that deserve our respect, agreements over wars or not. 3) The US and the UN are major stabilizing forces in the world. A major part of this stabilization comes from financial aid to poor countries. Plus, 1st and 2nd world countries did a number on most countries that were former colonies. Formerly sufficient areas became countries that can collapse on the whim of international markets, and that are practically enslaved by the World Bank and IMF. Isolationism is not an option in the age of globalization. I agree that we should help our country first, but we can't ignore the suffering of others simply because they do not fall within our borders. 4) Instead of pouring money into Social Security-- why not just fix it? 5) I do like the idea of shredding the cars of diplomats that thumb their noses at our laws, lol! But how about this: we treat them according to our laws, no better and no worse than any US citizen. Anyway, there's my opinion on it :) posted by

C'mon Robert, you really agree with incorrect statements and out & out lies? Why? Just 'cause it makes you feel good? Truthiness at its finest. :( posted by

Truth does not have a lot in common on this blog. One person wrote a comment and then I responded. Sometime after that that person's comment had been edited (not by me) without any explanation. Don't talk about truth. Just agree that if a thing is said often or loud enough it becomes truth. Why bother trying to have a discussion when there is little integrity involved? posted by

I was editing my comment before I even saw your response. I can't help it if you responded before I finished editing my post... I had to answer the flipping door so it took awhile for me to resend it, I have a life you know. lol Most of us edit our comments seconds after we post it to the blog, I forgot to add something and check for typos... so shoot me... lolol I'm sooooo sorry it took a full 10 minutes to edit my post. All I did is add the last paragraph, which has absolutely NOTHING to do with your response anyway. I'm sorry no one agrees with your blog here...but don't crazy on me...sheesh. posted by

Truth & Truthiness are two different things, Robert. http://www.merriam-webster.... Merriam-Webster's #1 Word of the Year for 2006 based on votes from visitors to our Web site: 1. truthiness (noun) 1 : "truth that comes from the gut, not books" (Stephen Colbert, Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report," October 2005) 2 : "the quality of preferring concepts or facts one wishes to be true, rather than concepts or facts known to be true" (American Dialect Society, January 2006)
