I don't know if if any of the authors of letters written about Dr Olsen know him or not.  I have lived in this community for just over three years and choose his name out of the book to be my primary doctor.  Since doing that I have not regretted that choice.

I have found him to be honest, forthright, and very willing to refer me to specialist whenever needed.  On one occaision a referred doctor suggested that I undergo an apendectomy.  Dr Olsen reviewed that report and recommended a second test be done by the same physician.  I underwnt that test a second time.  The second test revealed no need for surgery.

Thanks to Dr Olsen that was one surgery I was able to avoid.

Now Dr Olsen has thrown his hat into the ring to run for TVHD Board.  That has caused some very old information to be resurrected.  I have read all of that about the Medical Board probation and about a Malpractice claim being settled.

I don't know what caused the suspension since that did occur many years before I came to Tehachapi.  I just know that he is a very good Primary Care Physician.
I used to do some insurance claims work and know that in some cases an insurance company will settle with a claimant rather than litigate so that costs can be reduced - not just because the claim is justified.

I want to know why GEMCARE is not available at Tehachapi Hospital while it is provided to the hospital employees as a health care benefit.  Perhaps I am mistaken about it being a benefit as I just gleaned that information from reading the Tehachapi News.
