Greg...  you are kind of in the center.    Did you see my post yesterday..  I predicted you to be a little more to the center..  but i'm close.      Yes this is fun and at the moment it's a good thing you are standing between me and Blaze.  He is so upset with me he might try and spill my coo-aid. (grin)

Wow, yesterday it was all sh**s and giggles, and today is a different story!  I think everyone will make up, can't we all just get along!  LOL!  Well anyway, Sparks it's funny, I think you know me better politically than I know myself!  I would've thought I'd be more towards the right than what came out.

Ya know, this is slightly off topic, but I was thinking this morning about people posting comments and showing as much or as little of their identity as they choose, and I came to a little realization.  Personally, I think this post and the other posts where we shared some of our identities and experiences are a great way to learn about others and become more friendly.  I personally don't like anonymous posting, and while maintaining some privacy is certainly understandable, I think people become less antagonistic the more they know someone.  I think some people prefer to hide behind a mask because it is easier to be snotty that way.  And the folks that get snotty probably have all sorts of anger in them about all sorts of stuff, and spewing anger from behind a mask is a way of venting what boils over in them.  Personally, I believe that if you wouldn't yell at a friend, why would you yell at a stranger?  OK, that's enough for now, sorry for going off topic, but I thought it was somewhat relevant.  BTW, this is NOT directed at anyone specific so don't get all wound up!  Awww, come on now!  (grin)

Sparks - Here is what you said that got me so upset. I'll cut and paste your entire comment but highlight the offensive part in yellow so it won't be taken out of context. My comments will be in red.

OK  I don't get it...why are there so many lefties?   Is it because some of you are against the war or that you don't mind helping the poor or what?   <Blaze's comment: You are insinuating that we on the right don't want to help the poor.>   This is kind of shocking to me, Although    Blaze, VTKid, and Jeremy are no surpise to me at all.   I am curious to find where Greg is... I'm thinking he will be more towards the middle.. center.  I guess we will have to wait till tomorrow to find out.   At any rate it's good to know that most who took the test seem to care about people, all people.  <Blaze's comment: Again, your litmus test for who cares about all people is that little line in the middle that separates left from right. I feel good about that.

I'm not worried about the others taking offense to this because they are level headed enough to know this was directed at you and nobody else. You are the only one self righteous enough to insinuate that the left helps the poor and likes everybody and the right doesn't. I'm not having a bad day and I don't have anything for you to forgive me for. I was having a good day until I read your offensive comments. And don't think for a minute that this test proves anything. You know aero isn't a lefty. As early as yesterday you accused him of being far right. He disagrees with just about everything you are about and somehow now after this test he is one of you? Not a chance. And Greg to a slightly lesser degree is the same. He probably disagrees with 80% of your beliefs and yet he's on your side too? Somebody that can draw a line, put some on one side and others on the other side and say my "my side is better than yours" obviously has a self-superior state of mind.

Greg, is there a key under your doormat? I think I could use that happy hour drink with my Cheerios!

Hey...me and GregL are exactly in the same position....

Wow this is getting ugly.  What happened to live and let live.

Aero, i totally agree with you.  Sparks did say that MOST people who took the test DID care about people.  That is insinuating that some that took it do NOT care about people.  Hmmmm. interesting

I think this test just goes to show how socially liberal California really is. While folks here label themselves as Conservative, they really are more Liberal than the rest of the "Conservative U.S." Look at our Governator, for example. We all think of him as mainstream Republican, but you should see what folks from the Midwest or South say about him. They looove to call him "RINO" - Republican In Name Only.

Blaze, all I can say is Sparks is just using the same generalizations that Neocons use on Democrats. Y'know, we all want to "tax & spend", "cut & run", etc. It's total BS in a general way, but individually it can wound the ego.

Sparks and Blaze NO MORE ARGUING!!! And leave me out of it... LOL!!!!

You two are both great people and there is no need to " argue '" about something so silly....

Blaze, Oh I see ...   I wondered where you thought I said you didn't like people.     Yes, lefties do tend not to enjoy killing people in wars much and we are into helping the poor and single mothers, and we want to make sure everyone has health care etc etc. . We tend to care very much for all people and their equal rights. I can't take back what I said to the lefties in here who I believe are unselfish and care about all people. I am happy that they care.  Yes I drew the line at the border of right and left... it's true, it's kind of where I do draw the line.  However, I want you to know I'm sorry it offended you.  I have seen you protect people from racists in here a couple times Blaze. I was very proud of you because of it and still am.  I think you are a good guy and you do care about people... JUST NOT on the scale that lefties care about all people in my opinion.  Again I can't apologize for my beliefs but, I am sorry if I offended you.. I'm sorry.

EEK,  OK OK, I'm gonna stop right after this post, I won't respond to another one, I promise.   And hey, thanks for forgiving me, you are good people too (smile)

Your political compass
Since so many people here love to argue politics on these blogs, I thought it would be fun to see where everyone stands politically.  There is a quick little test here:

www.politicalcompass.org

that asks a bunch of questions and tells you where you are on the political spectrum.  It also shows you how you compare to some famous political figures.

My results were:

www.politicalcompass.org/printablegraph

Economic Left/Right: -0.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.46

Which would seem to put me almost smack dab on the middle of the chart with slight libertarian leanings.

You can get the link by clicking the link after your test that says "Show graph on separate page for printing" and copying and pasting the link from that page.

Wow I haven't checked in a few hours and suddenly there's a bazillion (thats a technical term) posts!   I'm glad everyone is having so much fun!  Looks like we're all over the map.  That explains all the hot debates I guess! :)

No problem Sparks!  While I don't always agree with your politics, I always enjoy reading your posts!

WOW, here it is.  A little more left than I thought, but that's OK, I won't ask for a do-over!!  LOL!!  Looks like I'm right in between Blaze and Sparks!  A little surprising, but great fun!

Sparks - Okay I admit it! I don't care about helping the poor. And I don't care about any other people either. I seem to remember last year when Eek needed help around Christmas time many people including myself jumped to her aid. You on the other hand were the only one that accused her of lying and deleting a post that you claim she didn't want others to see. It was an attempt to get people NOT to help her. Luckily nobody listened to you and despite your efforts she had a better Christmas than she would have otherwise. I don't mind being in the minority on these results. It's kind of like being a designated driver. While everybody else is getting three sheets to the wind and no longer knows what reality is, there's always somebody there that still has there wits about them to make sure you make it home safely! VtKid, and Jeremy, I guess we are the designated drivers! It's not always fun and it's sometimes lonely to be the only sober one, but somebody has to watch over people like Sparks to be sure she doesn't drink too much cool-aid.

Blaze who said you didn't care about people?   You got mad at the confederate flag guy... you attacked some moron that didn't like blacks...etc etc etc.    Are you upset because most people here on the blog's political reading seems to be slanting to the left?   Or are you just mad because at me??? .   Sure I am not perfect, I have made mistakes.   So you think you are the almighty and that we people need a designatd driver.. especially me  LMAO.   OK (grin)   Are you having a bad day like the one I was having when I attacked EEK.   Because like EEK forgave me, I will forgive you.   But I don't know if everyone else who you say you need to be the designated driver for will agree.      I say go ahead and vent Blaze... sometimes it's good to let it all out.   I know people have bad days and as i said,  I'll forgive ya.   Let it all out buddy.  Because even if you think you are alone... you're not.
