Cable versus Direct TV in Tehachapi

Hi Everyone.  I am moving into Golden Hills and am trying to decide between Cable and Direct TV.  Which is better?  Can you get HD with cable in Tehachapi? Please let me know what you have and whether or not you like it.  Thanks in advance!

Direct t.v. rocks!!! I will never go back to cable!! Where I live I cannot get cable here so I don't have much of a choice.. We get local channels from Bakersfield and we get the East and West coast feeds on alot of channels. We love this because if there are 2 shows on at the same time we can watch one early and the other later. We also have the DVR which is awesome!!! Skipping through the commericals is great....

We have had both cable and Dish Network in Golden Hills, the cable seemed to have more weather related issues than Dish Network.  Strong winds usually caused more pixelating of our picture when we had cable and sometimes the  cable box required a reset, (Usually during a good game or race!)

Dish Network has been a better service with only the occasional snow interruption, (You have to clean accumulated snow offf of the dish).

Dish Network's customer service line has been prompt and helpful over the years.

Cable had an advantage in that there was a wealth of on-demand programming available from the premium channels.

Both Dish and Direct offer some good deals to compete with cable.

Do your homework and make the best choice based on your needs.

We have DirecTV. Love it. We don't have cable access up here, but have had cable in other places we've lived. We'll never "go back"...

I have also had both. Cable started off to

be worth, the much lower price, BUT NOW, I have incorporated EVERYTHING, into that bill, Bright House is very good about working w/you, but, dang, it's like I have an I.V. constantly feeding them......."Feed Me ....Seymour!!"        & nbsp;       &n bsp;       &nb sp;        So,I would do like PlantGuy said....what's ever best for you!

i think it depends where you live...i had direct tv when i lived out in stallion and was very dissapointed with it...if the weather was bad or ice built up some on the dish we'd lose our signal...and for a couple hours everynight (usually in the middle of the night so it may not be a prob for you) the signal would be lost....i've had digital for a few years now and im happy with it :)
