The Auburn event on Sept 15 & 16 has been canceled. So, looks like Andy will go up to Squaw Valley, Ca. to jump in the Art Barkfest Fun Jump event. All proceeds go to the local ASPC in Squaw Valley. Don't think I'll go this time, awful long drive for this old man ;) Sure would like to have an event in Bakersfield sometime so everyone can see these dogs doing their stuff. Most of the dogs love it and it shows. All the "good" dogs are very calm when not getting redy to jump, but let them get close to the dock and they come alive. I know Andy goes bullistic when he gets on the dock, he can't wait to jump and if you don't throw his "Wubba" he will go jump anyway. Then, when he hits the water, he will look back at you as if to say "Where is the damn thing".
Maybe when we finally get our own pool installed (?) we can hold an exhibition and invite all of you to come watch, and maybe you can let your dogs jump?
On the Softball front, I want to put on a tournament for all the local 12u, 14u, 16u teams on Sept 22-23. I am going to put it on at my cost. I do it for the enjoyment I get out of it. But, so far no teams have joined in? I offered a &50 discount for early sign ups and it is a first come, first in. Tournament will only hold 4 teams in each division?
If I don't start hearing from teams in next couple weeks I guess I will cancel it? No sense putting more money into it if local teams don't want to play?
Guess I'll get the ol'quad out and have some fun with it instead of softball? The Softball community complains about not having local tournaments to cut down on costs and yet? Maybe it's about time for me to retire and just follow my "G-Grandson Andy?"
Haven't been on here for a while. Spent last few days in Memorial Hospital. Had a little plumbing done. Went in for a Angio-plaste, Doc had to do an "Intervention" and inserted a "Stint" while in there, all is OK now. At home taking things easy for a few days. Gotta get on a special diet and start doing alot of walking. Amazing what the Doc's can do now adays. Got to watch the whole thing on TV while they worked inside my heart and veins. We are looking for a new puppy, one for me to work with. Not sure when we will find the right one. Still looking for a pool to train Andy in until we can have our own pool installed. Having a hard time finding places to train at. The local small "lakes" are not being circulated as much as earlier and are getting very dirty. Granddaughter and her hubby are heading for Auburn this weekend and taking a nephew along as a "Junior Handler" to let him learn how to jump Andy. Hubby is helping with running the competition. Will let all know how Andy does there. They are still planning to taking him to Oregon next month to show off. Then to the Worlds in Scottsdale AZ. On the softball front, I am working on putting on a14u-16u Tournament on Sept 22-23. If I can get 8 teams to enter I will put it on, I am doing it at cost to give local teams a place to play with out having to go out of town and pay for the hotels/food/gas expense. Here are 6 pictures of Andy, he is very loveable,,,,,, Some links to see more of him (think we are proud??) http://www.princeandyflores... www.myspace.com/princeandyflores http://www.bakersfield.com/... Planing taking a video camera with me this weekend, will also see about a digital camera for some still pictures. I'm not very up on these new fangled digital & video cameras. Seems I take good pictures of the sky and ground when I use it?? Andy is a character, he thinks he is a lap dog at times, but he is bigger than my lap? Thinking about putting in a pool and dock to train him. It is hard to find places where we can let him jump
Granddaughter and hubby took Andy to San Diego this weekend to teach him how to surf. Yep, thats right, ride the board, hang ten, all of it. They said he did good, even caught a couple waves by himself. Got a video of him surfing, what can't my "Grandson" do? Guess next they will put him in speech class so he can talk to me? ;) Heading for Reno this next weekend for another Splash Dog Jumping competition and maybe visit some of the casinos and take in a show. I hear it is the 50's weekend in Reno, all things 50's will be there that weekend, going to be lot's of fun, wish you were all going with me ;) Until next time, have fun out there,,,,
