We have a catastrophic emergency taking place in America RIGHT NOW, right this minute and I don’t mean the election, or the war in Iraq. I would like to take a few minutes of everyone’s time to ask, actually to BEG you, to take 5 minutes of your time and find out what’s happening to our children in America. Regardless of what political party you belong to, we all need to band together and stop the horrendous acts being committed upon our innocent children. Please go to www.oprah.com and click on “Child Predators, Take Action Now”. This story was aired on Oprah yesterday and showed how child molesters are getting their hands on our children. And not just our older kids who can listen to us and hear us warn them about these people. We’re talking about babies only a few weeks old, even HOURS old, toddlers, grade school kids and up. Please click on all the related links and after reading this story, please click the links for the information for your senators to call or write them a letter and INSIST that they do something about this. There is a bill waiting to be passed, right now, and if it’s not passed by September 26th, it has to go back and start over. Help Pass Senate Bill 1738—The PROTECT Our Children Act. Hundreds of thousands of children are victims of sexual abuse each year. Due to the sheer lack of resources, law enforcement is unable to follow up on the majority of leads they have. People, we’re arguing over pigs and lipstick, commercials that are lies, and other things that people are going wild over. Surely, our own children are far more important to us than comments like those! We’re so worried about protecting people in other countries and fighting a war there, but this is what is happening EVERY minute of every day right here in our own country, and we need to stop this! These sick acts are being perpetrated by not only some slime off the street, stealing our children, but doctors, lawyers, professionals, family members and friends of the victims. “Victims” is a TERM, these are our CHILDREN! This is personal, make it personal! We all need to write to our senators and stop this NOW! We need to tell Senators and Congressmen, the President and those running for President, that it’s more important to use our money to stop these predators than it is to send some machine into space! We’re spending BILLIONS on space exploration, when that money needs to be used for things that are affecting the most sacred things we have: our children! When I first joined Ladies of Liberty, a division of Soldiers Angels, we had about 12 soldiers who had asked to have cards and letters of support sent to them... today, our new list was 21 pages long! Please take a few minutes of your time and send these soldiers a few kind words to let them know they have not been forgotten! Just a letter or card helps them out when they're feeling down over there...we have soldiers in all stations on our list, Iraq, Afghanistan... APOs and FPOs, men and women alike are feeling the toll from a long war for them... Some of these girls are MPs in very dangerous positions... one of groups just survived the blast from and IED and we thank God they all made it safely. And our Marines who are out in the dirt... deep in country... just pray for all our soldiers... You can join any group that you like and receive a changing list monthly of soldiers requesting cards and letters, or you can adopt just one soldier for the duration of his/her tour.... these soldiers are giving everything they have for American... can we give something back? Please visit www.soldiersangels.com today and let them know we care! I agree! Previously, the produce vendors were in the park, where there was shade for them and their produce and for shoppers also. The market is held during the hottest part of the day and many people cannot tolerate the heat. People with repiratory problems and especially the elderly, do not need to be out in the heat of the day. And to move the produce vendors to the hottest part of the street? Who made that decision? It's supposed to be a FARMER'S market, not commerical business... I went once this year and don't plan to go back unless things change.
