Kids Say the Darndest Things!
It's been my experience that people just can't resist talking about their children! In an effort to change the mood around here, I thought I'd ask about the cute, funny, or embarassing things your kids have said! I know we ALL have a story or two! Don't have kids? How about niece or nephew... or maybe you've overheard something in a store or restaurant.
My kids actually inspired this post during lunch today. I was nursing my 6 week old daughter, while my 2 and 4 year old were arguing over whether the baby was drinking milk or juice. My 4 year old very confidently walked over to me and pointed at my chest saying, "She's having milk!!!! This side is for milk. This side is for juice." 15 comments from 9 users

My 5 year old one day was playing with her brother's LEGOS. She quitely finished a tower and then said, "Look mom..... art deco!" I have no idea where she got that. It blew me away! lol posted by

My 5 year old son replied, "But mom has fur on her legs!" Just days later my little princess noted that I had hair in my nose. When I explained that everybody has little hairs inside their noses, she shook her head from side to side, while saying, "No momma, I only have boogers." posted by

My 16 month old grand daughter isn't putting sentences together yet, but I thought this was real funny. Grama (me) was holding her and we were reading her favorite book and she reached over and kept pinching the top of my hand. I couldn't figure out what she was doing and it kinda hurt. Finally, I said, "ow." She looked up at me with those big beautiful eyes and pinched me again. I than realized she was trying to pick up the raised veins on the top of my hand. She has finally noticed old lady hands. I think she loves me in spite of my hands. posted by

To Lori.....She loves you because of your hands! Many years ago I had no choice but to take my 4 year old daughter (she is now nearly 26) with me to an OB/GYN appointment. As this was a small practice with only a nurse and an office manager, we had to take Sarah into the room with us. The nurse kept her busy with a book in the corner of the room that was behind "the table". The doctor did his job quickly and Sarah never asked or said anything about it......Until we were at my in-laws for dinner (with the grandparents and several friends). Out of no where this sweet brown-eyed, curly-haired Holly Hobbie look-a-like says...."My Mommie's doctor looked her bagina!" and then went back to eating dinner as if nothing had happened! My husband's grandmother spit iced tea all over the table. We all laughed until we cried. Art Linkletter was soooo right! posted by

Peace - thanks for your story. I was babysitting that day of the pinching eposode and I called my daughter at work and we both laughed so hard our sides ached. And of course, that sweet baby laughed too - she didn't know why but she sure knew grama was having fun! Makes my heart so very happy.

Hahaha, countygirl. I was just changing my 15 month old granddaughters diaper when one of the boys I babysit (he just turned 5) asked me why she doesn't have a private. I briefly explained that boys privates are on the outside and girls privates are on the inside. I'm gonna let mom know he's inquiring incase the question comes up again, hehe, I'll let her explain the details if she so chooses. When you work in a pre-school you get a lot interesting questions...especially when kids are about 3 and up and wanna know how the baby got in your tummy? Or, when you have a baby and they wanna know how you got the baby out of your tummy. posted by

The funny thing is, this happened just after we went camping with grandpa. My son kept running in and out of the cabin while my little one was taking a nap . Granpda told him to go do his thing outside, and my son was completely shocked! ;p Once he discovered that it was kind of fun to "water the plants" we had a hard time stopping him from whipping it out in public, including shopping center parking lots. Grandpa left us shortly after that but his legacy lives on - I think it's very fitting that he taught his grandson the most basic of outdoor survival techniques. He's 5 now, and a bit more discriminating. Except when he's out on our deck and suddently feels the urge. (we live on a large property with no neighbors) We occasionally have to remind him to shout a warning - lookout below! posted by

After I watched the video link that Jewels posted above ( and laughed heartily, I might add), this was the next video in the line-up.....I know we're not supposed to think it's funny when a child swears/cusses, but I admit up front that I laughed my a** off! Here it is: posted by

Well, my son got in the habit of asking me every night at dinner, "Did you make everything"? I would say, "Yes" and he would say, "Everything is delicious". This was our dialog every night for WEEKS. Then one night I made this crock pot creation/disaster. He asked his usual question.... When I said "Yes".... he asked, "Uh..... Did you make anything else"?
