Everyone full?
Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving?
After spending several hours in the kitchen, I have to say that the end result was much. I received mucho compliments about the meal (it's rumored that I'm a pretty good cook) and the day was pretty mellow. What more can a cat ask for? How was your holiday? 3 comments from 3 users

Our Thanksgiving was great. My mom, my sister, her husband and 2 kids came over, joining the 6 of us. I baked all day the day before, pies, cheesecake. It was also my peta daughter's birthday. So I made pasta w/broccoli in it for her. I tried really hard to be gentle to my mother. All she had to do was stay away from my gravy and my daughter's mashed potatoes. She had a really hard time and when I reminded her, she of course got her feeling hurt. I like my gravy really rich and packed with flavor and I caught her with a big ol glass of water, getting ready to do it in. The dinner though went off nicely. The plastic cups and plates I bought in order to keep mom from having to stand at the sink for two hours washing dishes. (She forgets I have a dishwasher) I found that I had the problem with throwing them away. I thought, boy those will wash up nicely and we can reuse them. My sister was thinking the same thing. She rinsed hers off and then quietly threw them away. I had a hard time throwing them away too. I guess we are our mother's daughters. Save anything that can be washed. My mom went home shortly after dinner, she drove herself, which she wasn't suppose to do, but we gave her a cell phone and told her to call us if she had a problem. She called when she arrived safely at home. My sister, her husband and kid got a room and stayed in Tehachapi. Yesterday, we all got up and went to Magic Mountain. My husband went and picked up his 14 year old daughter, so 11 of us loaded up in cars and met there. It was sooo much fun. I love Thanksgiving. I think it was the best time I've ever had. Thanksgiving will always be my favorite holiday. posted by

My day started to go downhill, but in the end it ended up being a pretty good day. I'm not much of a cook so I volunteered to make the mashed potatoes and the sweet potatoes. How hard can that be right?? Yea, well I nearly cut the tip of my thumb off while cutting the potatoes. Geesh...only me. Hubby told me he's going to have to retire early because he can't leave me alone. lol He worked yesterday. (BTW Thank you to all of those who think about your local firefighters during the holidays. Your food donations make them being away from their families on the holidays just a bit easier. :) ) OK, well as if that wasn't enough I almost lost all the mashed potatoes while carrying them to my car. One of the handles broke on the crock pot they were in. Luckily, I was quick enough and I didn't lose them. After running around dropping food off here there and everywhere. I ended up having a nice quiet Thanksgiving at my mothers. The best part was that I got to hold my brand new niece!!
