How ya gonna spend that money?

It seems almost certain that the government is planning to send out checks as a way to try and give the economy a little boost. I think all they're waiting on now is a decision on who's getting what, since seniors living on Social Security have recently been added to the recipeint list.

So, with the checks all but on their way, how do you plan on spending yours? For me, I might buy a couple of items for the house that I've been putting off. I'll also give a bump to a couple of my favorite charities, since I consider it found money, and in my book, found money that is shared multiplies.

Anyone else have plans already?

I'm not sure when to expect it so I think it will either go straight to a credit card, or in the bank, depending on if it is before or after income tax refunds.

I will probably put it in the bank and use it to pay income tax!   I always owe when all is said and done.

I'm going to invest in macaroni and cheese and chicklets.

When the economy continues to dive, that 's the only thing people will be buying.

I've already got a corner picked out for my kids. I figure I'll make them swap clothes and feed them a whole box of oreos and practice big smiles before they set up their little kiosks.

Honestly this is the time to invest in stocks or buy property if you have the money.  Everything is cheap.  Just as always this will pass and then everything will bounce back to where it was a year ago.  And thats when you sell. ;)

We're getting a new fence!  Our back fence is so near collapse that I'm afraid one day it'll just fall over.  It was probably built in the 60s and looks like it has never had any maintenance.  I think the wood is petrified or something.  We're hoping to get one of those vinyl fences that will hopefully survive better than wood.  And with dogs, I figure we have the responsibility of keeping good fences.

Is this true??  Are seniors going to get money from the president?  Was this on the news??  Sometimes I don't watch the news, it makes me afraid to sleep in my bed at night.  I am always wondering if a robber is trying to get in.  I'm on a fixed income, and there is not much to take from this old hen, but I would surely put that money right in the bank.  Will the president send the check to the senior himself, or will he give it to their children?  How will I know if my check comes if it goes to my children?  I thought President Reagan was so handsome.   HA HA, I do go on.  HA HA  I really wrote to ask you if you got your new fence.   If you have young ones at home, I wouldn't used barbed wire.  Those little boys will rip their clothes sure as shooting they will.  I hope you get your check soon.  I hope I get a check too.  My medicine costs me a lot of money, and now I am thinking I'll get a new dress for church, and maybe some new shoes to go with my church dress.  I'll be in fashion, as the young people say.

If I understand it correctly, the tax 'refund' will come directly to the taxpayer, and not to their children.  So, jen, I think you are safe.  It will probably come in a check to your mailbox.  Maybe the senior housing manager will keep an eye out for other checks and notify all the residents so they can be watching for their money.  I hope you get enough to buy a really nice church dress and 2 pairs of shoes!
