weebles - > Mindless musings -> I know it's only an hour...
I know it's only an hour...
but daylight savings time is kicking my butt!

Maybe it's because it started so early this year, but I am a cranky, sleepless wreck this week. When my usual bedtime comes I'm wide awake, so I can either stay up later (and lose more sleep) or go to bed and wriggle around like a newly-hooked fish for an hour.

The cirtters aren't faring any better with their bed time, their get-up time and their meal times all jostled around.

Am I the only one feeling like this?????

It feels like the longest week in the world to me and its still not over! I guess the combination of the nice weather and having to work instead of going outside and enjoying it and the extra hour I have lost just makes me long for a long vacation...........dreaming...........of getting away........OK back to reality. I get up at 4am which is now 3 so I have had to force myself to sleep at 9 which is truly 8 but I'm acclimating and I guess I do like the daylight when I go home from work now. So all in all I can't complain to much once I adjust it takes me about 2 weeks.

I agree with Cani.... we shouldn't ever change the clocks.  I believe the correct time, beekeeper, is what we are observing now.

The time change hasn't effected me to much, but I have had to drag my kids out of bed for school. LOL

I'm not saying everyone has to suffer from the dred time change syndrome, but there are some of us who really, actively dislike it.

As far as the light goes, there will be plenty of it in the morning and in the evening as the seasons change. It is still winter, after all, until next week.

And I will now go to find some cheese to go with my whine :o)

I don't "feel" the time change either. It is only one hour. I guess you get all out of whack if you have to milk the cows or something. It reminds me of a story my grandmother told me once. She said there was a solar eclipse when she was a young girl living on a farm. The cows and chickens went to sleep; then when the sun "rose" again, the roosters crowed and the animals thought it was morning.

No offense, folks, but really, it's only an hour.  Besides weebles, you're a cat, and cats sleep 12 to 14 hours a day anyway, so how do you know what hour is what?!  But seriously folks, I wish I COULD worry about that hour, you see I have a really crazy job schedule and I've only had one day off in the last 25 days while working 12 to 14 hours a day, and have spent 3 nights at the studio where I work so I could get 5 hours of sleep instead of 3!  I  barely even know what DAY it is, let alone what hour!  Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining, I love my job and wouldn't trade it, but like I said, it's only an hour.  :)

If we don't observe DST anymore we won't even know what time to go back to. Which is right? Savings time, standard time? I say we all vote. Light later is definitely nice. Do we have to sacrifice morning light too? Let's just tilt the planet a little. Knock it of its orbit.

I agree time should remain the same... It is really hard to get up out of bed at 5:30am and it is still dark for almost another hour. It feels like 4:30am and i don't function that early.. I guess it will just take time to get use to then it will be time to change the time again...

No kidding,  not only have I  been dragging all week but so has my teenage daughter, ( and they are already cranky enough). It would be so nice if we could just stay on this daytime all year round. I like it  better when it is still light later but getting use to that schedule is tough.
