Fad you'd most like to see come back
What fad, fashion or otherwise, would you most like to see come back?
For me, I'd love to see some good, original tie-dye again. And maybe some dance music without a bass thump that shakes the dishes out of their cupboards. Oh, let's get away from "pocket" dogs and back to real, dog-sized dogs. Anyone else have something? 11 comments from 8 users

My, my - I'm getting on up there and my age is gonna show. Let's see: I would prefer hair color to look real - even when it's not. That stripped bleach thing that's going on is awful. I think we should "dress up" to go to the theater and church. Cute purses should match your shoes and your shoes should match your hem. Please; no red blouse, blue skirt, red shoes, blue purse. Awful ... don't do that. I'd people to act civil in public. No swearing in front of my granddaughter or my grandmother. Let me teach them what those words mean and how to use them in a proper sentence. OK - I do not want to see your private parts. Save them for someone who really loves you. Otherwise, it's just gross. Music is good bluesy and jazzed. If you can't make me sad and soulful you ain't doing it right. John Hooker, Etta James, Nina Simone, Gershwin, can't think .... so many hundreds more. Then the Rock 'n Roll: Eric Clapton, Santana (oh yeah), Joe Cocker (double yeah) ..... I'm going now --- have music to listen to before I put my head down for the evening. posted by

I think I would like to see teenagers wearing clothes that actually fit them and that do not show anything. I would also like to see music come back that people could actually understand what is said.... posted by

I have to agree with Colitas about the pants. Also Greg I don't think mini-skirts ever really went out of style. However, I do think they tend to be big in the "junior" dept. Being 6 foot tall myself I wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything sold on the rack today! :) I'd also like to see models with meat on their bones once again. Remember when they actually had curves. As far as fashion goes I think everything comes back in style, but with a little twist. I for one never thought I'd see leggings come back into style and now you see people wearing them under dresses, skirts, and shirts!!! posted by

Yeah, we always called it Southern Rock. Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, although Allman Bros. & ZZ Top have a definite blues tinge to their sound. The Eagles definitely have a strong Country influence, but that seems to go away when the guys go solo. posted by

Colitas, you are too funny, yes it would be great if the teens would stop walking around with a plumbers crack thinking they are making some kind of a fashion statement. Personally, I think it says allot more about their parental relationships. I wouldn't let my kid out of the house looking like that. No way, no how! I admit I would have said classic rock! But you are right, they are sort of in their own category. I would also put Dire Straights in that category, too, if we ever figure out what that is! Sort of a blues-rock.

Hi all: It's been a while. I'd like to see the 50's style clothing come back, with the cool saddle shoes, summer frocks, and sweaters with the little jeweled connectors that the ladies used to wear. I have one handed down from my grandma that I am itching to wear. I wasn't around yet the 50's and it seems to have been an age of innocence. As far as the sixties, I am sort of glad I was just a baby, as it seemed to be like everyone was walking around in a hallucinogenic coma following the Grateful Dead. I did actually get to see them several times in the 80's, and it gets old after a while. To this day, I can never figure out what the majority of lyrics to the songs were anyway or how deadheads could just followed them around from show to show without holding down a job? Greg L,...miniskirts, hmmm! You and every other male would love that! Actually they have come in and out of fashion several times already. I afraid my miniskirt days are over.

I would like to see pants that actually cover a person's arse to come back into style :) Guys and girls. Hey I have a music question for you guys. Maybe aero can chime in on this since he is our resident musician :) But anyone is welcome to reply. My husband is younger than me and we were talking about ZZ Top and he thought they considered country now. I said no, rock 'n' roll. Do you know what they are categorized as now...and please don't say classic rock..lol. Also, Lynyrd Skynyrd? Again we disagreed on this. I was saying that they are like the Eagles...I would never say they country but they are played on some country stations. Help me out here.

I was going to say good rock and roll, but it's popularity really hasn't gone away, just most the artists.
