Great WebCam & Weather Site for Tehachapi....Have you found some good WebCams? - Discussion topics - Active4People's Blog - Tehachapi News

I found a really outstanding WebCam for Tehachapi. It is associated with a weather monitoring site that is privately operated. The camera can be accessed at: http://www.mountainbase.com/Webcam/webcam.html and the weather site at: http://www.mountainbase.com/weather/index.html . If anyone wants to send their friends the link to this site, they can always see what is happening here. Usually, the WebCam is postcard perfect--I mean really good! The weather site has received commendations from the National Weather Service, and I believe it is used as a monitoring site in some respects for the NWS. It is located in Golden Hills. If anyone else has some good WebCam sites, perhaps it would be nice to post them here---your favorites?

Thanks for the info. If you have had the opportunity to view some of the Bakersfield weather reports already, ....they are pretty much always wrong, wrong. wrong. and always predict our temps 5-10 degrees higher than the temps actually are doeTehachapi. It can really be a problem if you rely on the weather reports and commute. Now, Lloyld the weatherman, that's pure entertainment...

Those are some great links. This will be very useful for the pilot community too. There are official weather sites that pilots can check but they can be as much as an hour old. Also as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks!

Hey, one thing I was thinking. Maybe the Tehachapi News can include these award winning links on its "Links" page. Nothing has been developed for that News web page, and perhaps this would be a good place. Maybe we (or the News) should start a blog and get comments on what outstanding links should be included on that site. I have always felt that those sites people really use and are beneficial should be included.

That's a great suggestion Active4People! We've actually set up each individual profile with a place to enter you personal interests and tell us all a little bit about yourself and even a place to add your favorite links. You can also invite others to become your "friend" based on their blog posts and info you find interesting in their profile.
Check out my profile! I hope that more people will start using these tools. I find it really interesting to see what everyone else is in to - as you apparently do also. It's also easy to update whenever you feel like it.
As for weather and other useful community links, keep coming back because there's always something new right around the corner!
