http://www.tehachapinews.com/home/Blog/Colitas/8620 I first want to start by saying forgive me for ranting and raving.&nbsp; But have you guys heard of these people that are protested the funerals of falling soldiers?&nbsp; In our town we had a fallen soldier that came home and they had&nbsp;services for him on Saturday.&nbsp; Well, low and behold these stupid people came and tried to protest his funeral.&nbsp; Come on, what's this all about.&nbsp; I am a supporter of free speech, but this is way to much.&nbsp; You can protest the war, you can protest the President, you can protest policies, you can protest the protesters, but for goodness sake, why would anybody protest the dead.&nbsp; What good is this going to do.&nbsp; And of course they do it in the name of God.&nbsp; They say that God is punishing us because the war in Iraq is unjust and also punishing the US because we are OK with gays.&nbsp; Does this really make any sense to anybody?&nbsp; And if so please explain.&nbsp; The people in my town came together.&nbsp; By the way they were white, black, hispanic, men, women, straight, gay, old, young, for the war, against the war, for Bush, against Bush, Christians, non-Christians, people from all walks of life.&nbsp; They came together and blocked the protesters from even getting on the same side of the street of where the services were held.&nbsp; I am so proud that it brings tears to my eyes of the citizens of my town.&nbsp; It doesn't matter what your views are, respect the dead.&nbsp; Not just the soldiers, but everyone.&nbsp; This&nbsp;so outrageous to me.&nbsp; We talk about about being &quot;offended&quot; on this site by words people say.&nbsp;&nbsp; WE ALL need to be&nbsp;&quot;offended&quot; by these people.&nbsp; Don't get me wrong, I know that people treated the soldiers&nbsp;coming home from Viet Nam&nbsp;horrible, but haven't we learned.&nbsp; Our soldiers are doing their job, and unfortunately they can't just quit like most people because they will go to jail.&nbsp; All I know is that if the soldier that came home was a loved one of mine, I would be in jail for at the very least assault.&nbsp; But then again, shouldn't they all be our loved ones?
