Alpine Forest Residents: Have you seen these two dogs? - Dogs available for adoption at Canine Canyon Ranch Rescue - Dogmomma's Blog - Tehachapi News

These two hobos have been seen in the Alpine Forest area for the past two and a half months-through the whole snowy winter! After staying here and there and everywhere, Ranger and his little friend finally made it to sanctuary at Canine Canyon Ranch and are being adopted into a home together! Thank your guard at the main guard shack for first spotting these two, then finding them a temporary home, then the little rascals went walkabout again and Cristina, an AF resident herself, got them to me. Ranger was at Saturday's Adoption Day at Tehachapi Pet Lodge and was seen by Carol. When his little friend was missing him too much, she decided that she just couldn't separate them. These fast friends and fellow adventurers will now have a nice safe warm haven from the cold and will stay together.
So, if any of you Alpine Forest residents saw these two and wondered where they lived, the answer was nowhere! Thanks to any and all who obviously fed and sheltered these two from the harsh winter of 2008-know that you probably saved their lives and certainly they appreciate it!
More dogs with their own unique stories are available for adoption at www.caninecanyonranch.org. Open your heart to a homeless dog.

Mar 30, 2008 at 04:03 PM : Thanks for the happy...

Thanks for the happy beginning, however, these two furry friends were probably yet another example of a foreclosure where their persons could not deal with all that was coming their way. When my husband and I first moved here from L.A. County, we simply could not believe how many animals were roaming around, wandering aimlessly. Clearly, you could tell that the dogs had belonged to/lived in a family atmosphere, however, due to circumstances way beyond their control, were left to twist in the wind.

Thank you so much for caring and taking in, yet more furry friends, who thought they had a forever home, to begin with, and found themselves at the mercy of kind and wonderful people, like you.

Thank you for finding these two sweet dogs a home together. They came to my house one day. They seemed well fed and happy. The guard took them back up the Mtn. to 'Mad Mike's" and next thing I know they are by the prison wandering. This "Mad Mike" didn't want them and they obviously didn't want him. So thank you to the person who took them both in as they seemed like good buddies. I would have kept them if I didn't have two seriously jealous pets already.

Yes, what a wonderful story about Ranger and Cody!

Leslie, it was nice meeting you at Canine Creek's Birthday Bash where I brought my family's newest addition, Tommy. As you know, his foster Mom was Cristina, mentioned above as one of the many people involved in saving and placing Ranger and Cody!

Thank you Leslie, Cristina and the many, many volunteers in our community doing a seemingly endless job.
