On Christmas Eve at Saint Malachy Church (407 West E Street) All About Animals will be displaying some nativity animals. We will have a Camel and a few of his friends in the main parking lot from 6:30 until 7:30 ish...

THS Parents

This is a request to all the parents, friends, relatives, etc... that drop off and pick up students at Tehachapi High School. Please pay attention to the signs and be courteous when driving through the parking lots. The RED CURB is not a drop off zone and there are several signs that tell you not to stop there. There is a designated area for student drop off & pick up, please use it or use one of the many vancant parking spaces. There are also several areas along Dennison where the curbs are not painted allowing you to stop and drop off students. Every time you park illegally you make the parking lot even more dangerous.

KIMBERLY JEAN CONCERT THIS SATURDAY !!!

This star graduated from Tehachapi High School (Kimberly Grassman) and is returning for a fund raising concert this Saturday. The concert starts at 7 pm, doors open at 6:30. The concert will be held in the Jacobson Middle School Gymnasium (The old Tehachapi High School campus on Anita). Tickets will be available at the door. Come support one of our local stars, our schools, and community, but most of all come out and have some fun!!!

BLOG TECH SUPPORT QUESTION

I have had my hand slapped a few times for having my company logo on my page. I have not been able to remove it and "admin" does not reply to my questions.

When I go into "EDIT PROFILE & SETTINGS" I select "BLOG SETTINGS" and the attached screen print is all I get. Am I doing something wrong or is my profile wacked out?

Are they termites or ants?

People often mistake swarming (Flying) termites as flying ants and vice versa. They are similar in size and shape, but there are a couple simple ways to differentiate the two.

- Ants have a pinched waist, bent antennae and their rear wings are smaller than the front wings.

- Termites have a wide body, straight antennae and their wings are the same size.

If all you find is wings on a window ledge, you can sort them and look for the two different sizes to aid in identification. If you find live insects inside your home, spray them with a light detergent, like Windex, and vacuum them up. Swarming insects inside your home or building could be the sign of a serious problem that you may not be able to handle alone. If you need assistance with identification, most pest control companies offer this free of charge and you may also contact the county’s Agriculture Department.
