Good bye 2008, Hello 2009!

Last year started out being the worst year of my life. Most of you know my story so I won’t say anymore. I’m so thankful that part is over. Some of you have been supportive and I thank you for that. Some of you made me laugh when I really needed it. Some of you don’t like me too much and I’m okay with that. I don’t expect to be loved by everyone. For those of you I hurt your feelings, I’m sorry. It wasn’t my intentions. I am bound to my convictions and I don’t blow with the wind.

As the year progressed I met a wonderful woman; really unexpected considering so soon after my ordeal. Amy is the joy of my life now. I go to her church and she mine. I’ve met her family and she some of mine. For Thanksgiving Amy and I stayed at my late wife’s parents for a few days. They became fond of her which was one of the approvals I was looking for. For those of you who know my story, you know I’ve been extra cautious. I know Amy loves me with all her heart.

On Christmas morning in my home, I presented a diamond ring and asked Amy to marry me. She immediately said yes. We haven’t set a date but I’m sure it will be soon.

As part of our honeymoon, she has agreed to travel with me on a year long trip across North America. I’ve bought a new RV and will be trading in my 08 Ram for a larger truck. We hope to leave in February. We’ll take short trips in the area first before heading east. When it comes to RVing, Amy and I don’t have a clue about it, but we are going to learn. This too will be part of fulfilling a dream of my late wife and my dream to photograph wildlife and nature at military installations.

So my post here will become very few. I plan to start a travel blog and I will let you know the URL.

I wish you all a joyful New Year and I pray it will be a prosperous one.

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

Currently, Donald Wildmon of the AFA is leading a campaign for people to call Costco to please reconsider its decision to ban Christmas in its stores and adopt the same policy as Bass Pro Shops in making Costco a Christmas-friendly company.

A few years ago I jumped on this bandwagon. But after giving this some serious thought I think it’s a waste of time and effort to tell companies what to do during the Christmas holidays. Sure, I still believe Christmas is what this season is all about. But really, does it make a difference if someone or a company chooses to say “happy holidays?” I have even caught myself saying “happy holidays.”

I don’t think saying “happy holidays” means they are not a Christmas-friendly company. If that were true, then why are they selling Christmas related products?

What say you?

Forget Black Friday Ads!

Somewhat embarrassing to admit, but Christmas is tight this year. I will be making bedroom slippers as gifts. You'll most likely agree that it's a splendid idea, and should you wish to do the same, I've included the instructions below..

How to make bedroom slippers:
You need four maxi pads to make a pair.
Two of them get laid out flat, for the foot part.
The other two wrap around the toe area to form the top.
Tape or glue each side of the top pieces to the bottom of the foot part.
Decorate the tops with whatever you desire, silk flowers (this is most

Nothing, Absolutely Nothing

In an answer to Joty’s question I surmised that answer rather quickly. As a Christian I have nothing to be afraid of. But on the other hand, I am concerned (not worried) about a lot of things and issues, just as my old friend is. Some of which I realize only the power of the God I serve will be able to make the appropriate changes in the lives of His creation. But again, God will not force His will on anyone. The God I serve entrusts His will only to those who surrender their will to Him. I do believe the God I serve can and does create or allow situations that will either draw people to him or allow people to reject and run from Him.

Over the past weeks I have noticed a lot of, as I interpret it, what I believe to be errors in some people’s thinking and knowledge. I suspect some people have listened to MSM so much that they just assume the MSM is telling truths and all we need to know. Some won’t even take the time to research their own beliefs and values to validate them. I think some have listened to MSM so much that they let the MSM news/teaching become part of their beliefs. I guess in a sense some people have let the MSM become their god.

There were a lot of other comments said about me that only made me laugh. Rather than reading exactly what I said and asking specific questions to better understand who I am, some of you found it easier to write unfounded generalizations without merit. It’s strange to me that when a person shares their personal beliefs without forcing those beliefs on others they are called names like bigot, homophobe, intolerant, zealot, haters and religious freak, etc. As for me, I don’t think anyone can find any statement I made that could be closely considered as forcing my Christian views or opinions on anyone. Worst case would be only quoting what someone else said. I’m not holding a gun to anyone’s head. People who, in a roundabout way, tell me I cannot share my views or opinions are the ones who are intolerant.

So what I intend to do over the next weeks is bring to the forefront what the MSM is not telling some of you. Honestly, I don’t have time to do this, but I will find the time somehow to do it. I’m not that educated but have access to a lot of resources and I have ordered some reprints of books written in the early 1800s. The odd thing is most of all the information can be found easily on the internet. So if some you won’t take the time to find and research it, I’ll do my best to bring it here where many of you read these blogs.

On the lighter side, sorry I missed the Meet ‘N’ Greet. I do look forward to the hiking and 4 wheeling in Red Rock Canyon SP; that is, if I’m invited. Hopefully that will be a day when my girlfriend can come along.

One thing is for sure, MSM is not reporting this. If the shoe were on the other foot, MSM would be all over it.

Joe Infranco, an Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) lawyer working on the Prop 8 issue, reports the following:

As you are aware, the reports of criminal acts and vandalism against Prop 8 supporters is growing every day. I spoke with the campaign yesterday, and we now estimate that hundreds of thousands of campaign signs have been stolen or vandalized. These acts of vandalism take place on private property – homes and churches alike. The police have been flooded with reports on these acts, and appear powerless to stop it. We know of reports of cars being vandalized, church property spray-painted, a campaign worker being assaulted and needing 16 stitches, and so on. Blogs like the Daily Kos have even called for substantial donors to be identified from public records and harassed. The opposition is being funded by large corporations such as Apple, Google, and many others.

Prop. 8 Supporter Violently Attacked

Prop. 8 supporter, Jose Nunez, 37, was brutally assaulted while waiting to distribute yard signs to other supporters of the initiative after church services at the St. Stanislaus Parish in Modesto.
