I paid full price for a &quot;pure bred&quot; (my mini-Dox) with pedigree (from a backyard breeder - something I would <i><b>never</b></i> do again) and had her spayed at 4 months. Didn't want to show her, didn't want to breed her, never bothered to get her papers. All my other dogs have been rescues, two from a Las Vegas shelter and they were sterilized before I could take them home.
