I can't speak for Lori, but what exactly is wrong with the ad? A little word-play is offensive to you? Do you also get offended by right-wing pundits who use the same type of word-play against liberals?

Rickenbacker, have you seen the fact-check page that goes along with the ad? Care to point out where the ad's facts are wrong?

Have you ever bought print advertising, Rickenbacker? I have, and y'know what? When you buy advertising on a regualr basis in any publication, there's usually a discount rate offered. the more you advertise, the less you pay per ad. Great concept, no? Anyway, if Rudy or anyone else wants to negotiate a discounted rate for advertising based on frequency, I'm sure they'd be more than welcome. In fact, I'm sure Rudy & his people already know this. Kinda disingenuous of him, don't you think?

Nothing new in political organizations doing that - both right and left - and I don't think it should be done. Now, as we find from today's news, Patraeous is not considered much by his boss. I will have to defer to Admiral Fallon.

If you're up for the good debate, respond to what the Admiral is saying.

Unfortunately - men and women are dying. That is the reason that this administration's policies are so very wrong and dangerous. And unlike Republican Representative Baynor, I will NEVER feel it has been a small price to pay.

And as suggested above - everyone in favor of the war in Iraq, pay your small price and send in all your family members. Little Billy, only 2 years old now, according to the Bush/Cheney/Patreous "plan" will be able to pay his small price too.

And remember, it has been stated by all respected individuals that Iraq is NOT the major front on terrorism. In Iraq, Little Billy will be fighting to stabilize the oil market for Hunt Oil, based out of Texas - some where near "the Bush ranch."

Then why are you requiring anyone else to be offended by it?

And you still haven't pointed out the offensive part, as projected by you. Is it just the fact that the NYT discounted the ad? Are you supportive of governmental regulations over advertising rates?

Thanks oohchild and "rick."

I don't really agree with your summation rick, regarding dems not voicing their opinion against moveon because they are afraid of them and what they'll say. First, because moveon is a radical group, like the swiftboatvets. Most people discount any leanings that go too far left or right. Not to say that no one listens - just that the majority doesn't. We hear from the far side all the time at this site!!!! (Don't just just love em?)

Usually, when hatred is used to make a point, people turn away, even when they agree with the point. I'll use myself as an example. I turned away from moveon.org's point, never read all the way through and consider them a very bad side of our freedom of speech. But moveon has made a point that I agree with and that is because of Admiral Fallon's assessment of General Patraeous. Patraeous is in Bush's pocket and that makes me want him to go away and feel his is Bush's current mouth piece.

So many Generals have gone away because they disagreed with Bush, so Patraeous, in agreement with Bush will probably be the one that gets to stay.

Rickenbacker, my second point is one you in which we'll disagree .... right out of the gate! But here goes. I'm thinking the majority of Americans are going to vote for a Democratic president. Period. Which one remains to be seen, but I think it's gonna go with the dems. And, I think the dems think so too. So - radical, cliff dwelling, knuckle dragging groups like moveon just don't count in the big picture.
