So I went to a local salon after being reccomended by a family friend. I told the women doing my hair I wanted golden brown with light blonde weave and that it was for my wedding. Long story short all she did was put bleach in which didnt get rinsed all the way out, missed spots and the bleached leaked throughout my hair causing me to not be able to put my hair up without looking like a 1st grader did my hair. Don't get me wrong she was nice just not paying attention or doing what I had asked for. I called the owner 2 days later and explained the situation she said to come back and the girl would fix it we made an appt. I went to my appt. and the shop was locked. After waiting about 15 mins a lady unlocked the door saying she was the only one there. So they changed my appt. to tomorrow without telling me, were supposed to call me back tonight and never did plus the hair on the nape of my neck is coming out.

May 4, 2007 at 08:05 AM : Yeah good luck....I...

Yeah good luck....I have a funny story on hair dye. My best friend and I in high school decided that dying our hair was a good ideal. Now mind you we were typical rebellious teenagers. We had dyed our hair previously, so we thought we knew what we were doing. Well, the rebellion part came in play, and she dyed hers purple and I dyed mine black. Hers washed out mine didn't. So my lovely mother told me that the only way to fix was to cut it out. So needless to say I looked like Rosie's twin when she had that short weird hair cut. My hair was still black, but I looked liked I changed my sexual orientation too.

So, you would think we learned. NO! After my hair grew back out, my best and I again decided to dye our hair. My hair came out this red/orange color. (no offense to red heads, I just don't have the complexion for it) Well, my dear best friend started singing the theme song to Annie. I went straight to Thirfty's (Rite Aid) and got more dye. Did I mention that this same day we dyed my hair and it didn't change, then the red/orange dye came out. So, I dyed it again, which makes it 3 times in a matter of 3 hours. My best told me not to because my hair would fall out. I told her that I didn't care, I would wear a wig before I would hear the Annie song for months. Luckily, it didn't fall out and I didn't dye my hair again for 10 years.

I'm a red head by nature. Didn't like that when I was 16. Went platinum. Oh my, my, my. I'm surprised I wasn't recruited into the local red light district. Even at 16 I recognized this mistake and after another trip to the local "beauty supply" outlet, I was a red head again.

My grand daughter is a red head. I hope she appreciates that glorious color more than I did. That hair simply sings in the sunshine.

Natty - from these stories you can see, as bad as it seems today - this too shall pass. And thanks for the heads up (pun intended) on the local butcher shop.

May 4, 2007 at 11:05 AM : I have done everything...

I have done everything imaginable to my hair at one point, but you being a paying customer ( I assume you paid for the service?) need to take a step further. First off keep ALL receipts and take pictures of the hair that is now falling out in the back of your head. Go to the owner and demand your money back and if she fails to accommodate you herself by fixing the other girls mistake, free; then tell her you will take her to court. If it comes down to having to go elsewhere to get your hair fixed keep those receipts, mileage to and from the salon, and any time off work you had to take. If you have all that to back up a claim you should have no trouble winning the case. You are nice if it were me I would be naming the salon and the hairdresser who screwed it up. Hair reacts differently with every one to color so if it was a problem with chemical reactions I could be more forgiving but as a professional they are suppose to know and then to state she was just not paying attention and left bleach in your hair she is lucky you aren't suffering from chemical burns on your scalp. You have rights and don't let them push you around with out customers they can't make a living so it's important as a business owner to bend over backwards on a case like this not to jerk you around! Good Luck I hope all gets fixed before your wedding.
