Is Grease 2 Better Then Grease?

The other day, I went to see Wicked at the Pantageus Theater. To my surprise I found out that Grease is making a theater run in 2009. Now, I know a lot of you are fans of Grease. But I was hoping, instead of rehashing the old Grease, why don't they just produce Grease 2 for the stage?

Some of you might think that Grease 2 doesn't belong on the same level as Grease and shouldn't get the respect of a stage run. But I started to think....Grease 2 is under appreciated! And that led to an Epiphany! Is Grease 2 better then Grease? Let's look at the Categories if you will:

Songs:

Now everyone loves, "Hopelessly Devoted", "Sandra Dee", "Sandy", "Grease Lightning", the Karaoke Classic "Summer Nights" and "Your the One that I Want" from the Original.

But how can you forget the classic "Cool Rider" and "Who's that Guy?" from Grease 2? I mean...how awesome was it watching Michelle Pfeiffer dance around in tight leather pants asking for a "Cool Rider"? Plus Grease had the worst song on both soundtracks, the dreadful "Beauty School Dropout." That alone convinces me that the song category goes to Grease 2 HANDS DOWN!

The T-Birds:

Let's measure this on a "Cool" level. Grease had John Travolta and Jeff Conaway. Grease 2 had Adrian Zmed and Christopher McDondald. Now in their Prime I'd give the edge to Grease's Zucko and Kenickie team. But lets judge this category on a PGA Scale; Post Grease Accomplishments.

Travolta - sure he made some good flicks. But for every "Urban Cowboy", there's a "Look who's Talking." Now being in "Pulp Fiction" should wrap up the "Cool" Category for the OG's, but you can't forgive Travolta for dancing around in a fat suit in "Hairspray." That is possibly the uncoolest thing you could do.

Conaway - Dude was in Taxi, but what the hell has happened to this guy? When Chyna from the WWE is telling you to get help....you got problems!

Zmed - Two words..."Bachelor Party!" Zmed starred opposite Tom Hanks in this Classic! I mean this movie introduced the term "Donkey Show!" Plus Zmed was in a TV show with "the Coolest actor ever!" That's right Captain Kirk himself...William Shatner! And that show? Let's say it all together! TJ MOTHA F-ING HOOKER!

McDonald - Shooter McGavin! Need I say more?

Leading Lady:

Grease had Olivia Newton John. Now Olivia Newton John did sing "Xanadu" and danced around in tights to "Let's Get Physical." But let's be honest....she wasn't all that! Plus she needed help from Frenchie FROM FRENCHIE for God's sake to get it together!

Grease 2 had Michelle Pfeiffer. Michelle Pfeiffer was Catwoman! Michelle Pfeiffer was in a COOLIO VIDEO! Michelle Pfeiffer is the SH!!!!!!!!!!T!

So in a surprising shutout Grease 2 takes home the prize! From here on out Grease 2 will be recognized as the superior Grease! Let the "Cool Rider" Karaoke Jam Begin!

Crazy People Say Crazy Things

Readers....I asked sam a simple question so I could understand why he'd call Obama "Satan's Choice." With that claim he's insulting the majority of the voting public, Obama supporters, his wife, his children. With that he's implying that those who support Obama are serving satan! How absurd is that?

Instead of answering my question, he deletes my post. Talk about propaganda control. It is my belief, (through sam's actions) that he does not respect discourse. I used to respect Sam, but since he called me (a devoted father and husband, who is a Catholic) a servant of satan, he has lost all of his credibility.

It is my belief that Sam would not call Obama, satan's choice if Obama were white. Obama's platform is similar to Clinton's. Was Clinton Satan's choice? Obama's experience rivals that of Abraham Lincoln. Was Lincoln satan's choice? What sam is practicing is the ULTIMATE SIN in reporting and editorial. You can dish it out, but you can't take it in. And Sam practices censorship. HYPOCRITE!

My Friend Khary Kidd

This past Monday a friend of mine lost his life and his loss has impacted a lot of people that I grew up with in Tehachapi. His name was Khary Kidd and he was certainly one of the sweetest people that I knew. The Kidd was one of those guys that was always positive, busting jokes, and was just a cool, nice guy. The last time I saw him, I was clowing him for how grown up he was and that he looked like MC Hammer (when Hammer was broke!) Khary could talk smack with the best of em' and it's sad that he was taken from his loved ones at such a young age.

I'm not going to pretend that I knew Khary (the adult) very well, but I have very fond memories of him during our High School days. Always with a smile, trying to act tough sometimes (even though he was harmless) and always ready to B.S. When I think of our friendship, it was one of joy and positivity. No postering, no pretending, very honest and always fun.

My favorite memory of him was when I was working out at the Stallion Springs Golf Course and I was closing the Cart Shop. Peeler and Khary came by to pick me up so we can go to a party. I had a lot of carts to park so what do Peeler and Khary do? They help me get the job done faster, while having some extra curricular fun. To make a long story short, I was fired the following day!

Even though I haven't seen Kidd in years one thing is certain, if I were to see him tomorrow it would be as if time had not passed and I could count on him to have my back. I'm just sorry that I won't have that chance again. Peace Khary Kidd, you'll always be my friend and brother.
