        <title>Contractor or Handyman? - Bringing Adventurers Together - christibdce&apos;s Blog - Tehachapi News</title>

        <description>I purchased a small 5&#039;x4&#039; shed online for my backyard.&amp;nbsp; I need someone to build a level, simple wood-frame floor/foundation for it.&amp;nbsp; It&#039;s not a permit-needed situation, so I don&#039;t need a licensed contractor or anything.&amp;nbsp; I even have plans from the shed manufacturer on how to do it.&amp;nbsp; I just don&#039;t have the power tools or extra set of hands needed to build it.
I need some recommendations on someone who would be able to do a good job for a fair price.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I&#039;ll only consider someone who is honest (by reputation and given references) and will do the work within a couple of weeks from now.&amp;nbsp; Again, they don&#039;t have to be licensed or anything, just skilled and fair.&amp;nbsp; </description>

                <title>Apr 4,  2008 at 05:04 PM : &amp;nbsp;Haha, thanks...</title>
                <description>&amp;nbsp;Haha, thanks Joty!&amp;nbsp;
The reason I specified that I didn&#039;t require a licensed contractor is because I know that, especially in an area like this, there are probably a lot of handy-man type guys needing extra cash.&amp;nbsp; That doesn&#039;t mean I wouldn&#039;t thoroughly check them to protect myself, but times are a little tough and I wanted to give the opportunity.&amp;nbsp; My dad&#039;s an architect and thas advised me many times on the best way to check up on just about anybody, licensed or &amp;quot;iffy.&amp;quot;
I appreciated the advice, though!
