In All Fairness... - Wake up Tehachapi !! - countygirl's Blog - Tehachapi News

A blog about customer service! Ahaaaaaaa. Rant on. lol
No, like I've said before I consider myself a reasonable person so in all fairness I felt like I had to write this. LORI, you better be prepared because I'm going to be talking about Starbuck's and unless they get their act together you may be losing that bet you've got going.
So I have never had a problem with Starbuck's service....until now! The last couple times I have been there I've been disappointed. Having to repeat my not so complicated order several times. Receiving the wrong pastries and then today I got a hazelnut latte with no COFFEE in it! They better get their act together or else I'm getting my coffee elsewhere.
Also, I'm just curious if anyone else is afraid to go to a certain fast food place here in town because their employees are so unsanitary and slovenly looking?

Some of the bigger businesses here in Tehachapi lack good customer service. I am redoing alot of things in my Mother's home right now and each and every time I go to Home Depot I walk out thinking that I will NEVER return there. I cannot count how many times an employee has told me to go look somewhere else for help and how many times they have pointed there fingers and said go look that way for someone. The customer service there just plain stinks!! I could go on and on about how they screwed up ordering my dishwasher and I ended up having to get a more expensive one...

I personally think alot of these businesses do not train their employee's on good customer service or how to order products....

Yes I dread going to Home Depot too! I only go there if I know that no other hardware store in town has what I need, and only if I know EXACTLY what I need! It is tough to find someone, and then someone who knows what they are talking about. It's frustrating when the salesperson knows less than I do about the subject in question!

My wife and I spent several hours on four separate occasions trying to place an order for a rather sizable and costly Home Depot installed project. We basically paid with our time for the salesperson to learn their computer ordering system! And even after all that, there were still errors! I will say that Home Depot is rectifying the problems and I think it will turn out OK, but the time and frustration involved is immense, especially when my wife and I are pretty easy going and know exactly what we want.

I would have been fine with no Home Depot here, but now that it's here it's usually a painful experience. Bummer.

Sep 18, 2007 at 07:09 PM : I don't do much...

I don't do much business at Home Depot... but when I was painting a nursery for my daughter, Kenny in the paint department was extremely helpful! He helped me match colors, and offered to give me the "tint" to add to some white paint I already had. I ended up just buying paint, but I thought it was so nice of him to try to save me the money when I didn't need a whole gallon.

There are plenty of places in Tehachapi where I've gotten horrible service though. The 1 hour photo at Walgreens is a joke. I upload at the website, and usually get an email within 20 minutes saying they are ready.... only to wait another 20 minutes for someone to come to the counter when I go pick them up.

Unsanitary fast-food employees? I tend to stay away from Sonic.... not just because of the employees, but I am always leery of a restaurant you can't go inside.... and the view from the drive thru window doesn't do much to calm my nerves with employees drink cups everywhere..... the cashier is handling money and then making your strawberry lime-ade (how clean is that lime they leave in your cup???) and all the stainless steel in the kitchen looks sticky and grimey. But their Onion-Rings Rock!!

I believe the employees unfortunately get the bad rap for not knowing what they are doing it is the Company's fault not even the Manager. I can't speak currently, but anyone who have worked in K-Mart or Walmart and maybe some others know what I am talking about. Yes when you go to electronics, or garden, or hardware, or sporting goods, you expect to have an employee who can answer your questions and might have more knowledge than you. Or at least knows their dept. This is not the case. The company puts anyone in those depts. You don't have to have experience, it is up to the employee to learn. They normally don't have training for individual depts. If you can run a cash register, then they'll put you anywhere, especially to cover breaks and lunches. This is the company's fault in my opinion. Nothing against K-Marts, etc, but I only go when I know what I want. I will go to a store that specializes in a product if I don't know what I need or want or have questions. Now sometimes I will go back to the Dept Stores and get my product but I go else where for info. Is the right? Maybe the Dept stores are cheaper because of cheap labor practices so is fair to go to the Specialized stores and not buy but use their knowledge. I haven't figured that one out for myself yet. Don't get me wrong I am not downing the actual people, even management, but the companies. There are many places who train their managers, but mostly for human services and not actual knowledge on products. But normally they have working at their dept for a period of time and have some knowledge.

Also, if you don't grow and package your own food, you never know what might be in it or where it has been. And not just during the processing. Just a little info: for those of you who don't wash the top of your soda cans. or any, do so. I have personally witness mouse droppings, urine, many other things on top of them. For example: when a truck comes in at a grocery store, it is unloaded in the backroom, stored, then stocked. No one washes anything off. So if you have a mouse in the backroom, which is normal, or even from the vendor, you don't know what's going on. This again isn't any ones fault, people just need to wash things off. There's also the cross contamination issue. If some spills or leaks it can get on anything. There is no way to control this except at home.
