Thanksgiving seems to be one time of the year when people make recipes that otherwise never seem to land on the dinner table. What dish are you most looking forward to?

In our home deviled eggs only seem to make an appearance during the holidays...just like homemade pecan pie. What about your family?

And I like stuffing, which I also never get outside of the holidays. And that seems wrong when you can now get it from a box.

Nov 21, 2006 at 01:11 PM : My daughter lives on...

My daughter lives on deviled eggs! She makes them with her grandpa every Saturday when she goes to visit him and he says he has to keep her from eating all of them. :)

Thanksgiving is about the only time of the year we have the traditional "yams with marshmallows on top." That has to be one of my faves since I can always remember eating it at Thanksgiving.

Where do I start! The homemade stuffing is killer! It's my grandmother's recipe who is gone now so the torch has been passed on to my mother. Banberry pie, pecan pie, home made dinner rolls, and yes deviled eggs! MMMM! But it doesn't end there! For a week later the turkey sandwiches are awesome too! Oh and I can't forget the potato pancakes made from leftover mashed potatoes. That's another one of grandmas specialties!

Each year I make pumpkin pecan pie with homemade caramel sauce...by making it only once a year, it stays special and my family looks forward to it. (Uhoh, they don't get it this year. We are going to a large family reunion and dinner will catered. Maybe for Christmas this year.) Cold spiced yams, cranberry raspberry jello with whipped cream and pecans. Can't forget the green bean casserole!

We don't use left over turkey for sandwiches. I make a killer turkey hash.

It's not so much the food for me as being with my loved ones.
