city council inept

The city council is not doing their job. They are supposed to represent the best interests of the residents, not doing whatever Caudle thinks is best. They should be asking the hard questions...THAT IS THEIR JOB. They should have been concerned about the future and security of the employees they have hired. All the city council has done is defer quetions and show a lack of understanding on the matter, leading me to believe that Caudle has way too much control. This is dangerous. Residents have the absolute right to demand answers from their representitives. They work for us. Residents have the power to put the pressure on the city council. Call them daily. Show up to meetings. Write letters to the editor. Demand a justification for this waste of money!

Caudle Inept

What could the city possible want with a fire department? What advantage would that provide? If the city wanted to allocate and spend $1M a year on more protection, why wasn't KCFD asked for a proposal showing what more they could provide for additional costs. What is the reason for manning a city deparment full time? What happens when a TFD firefighter is injured on duty? Who pays or all of the "extra costs"? Who plans something like this with out studying it first?

I believe that Caudle is truly to blame here. It has been him who avoids answering questions raised by the pulic thus far in the process, and it his lame answers that the city council refers to when they are asked about the matter.

The question that must be answered here is why is it Caudle that wants this so bad.

As far as what will happen to the employees of the TFD if it is decided that it will no longer be needed in it's current capacity, well, it is a little too early to know. I do not feel the city is obligated to allow them to keep their jobs just because of poor planning and even worse employee consideration. I would encourage the employees of TFD to start asking the city some hard questions about their future as they continue testing elsewhere in the state. Their families security is worth far more than Jason Caudle's incompetent city planning. The City council should have considered these possibilities as well before starting down this slippery slope
