I'm going through the articles on line and came across this genius.  I'm wondering, when people move into a home near the tracks, do they give the noise a second thought any consideration when making their final decision before moving so close.  Yeah, lets all honk our horns at intersections.....great idea but WE'RE NOT TRAINS!!  Quality of life issue my patooty!  The quality of life in Tehachapi is....IT'S A TRAIN TOWN!!  What the hell is going through peoples heads. I am perplexed by all of the attention given to rebuilding the train depot. I've lived in Tehachapi for a few years and during this time have read several letters to your paper complaining about the noisy train horns blasting away 24 hours a day. I live over a mile from the tracks and can still hear those horns loud and clear. How all those poor souls who live within a few blocks get any sleep is a mystery to me. Are the city leaders doing anything to address this quality-of-life issue?...
