Report Violation

Are you sure you want to report the following content as a violation?
According to state law, the driver is required to stop whenever property damage may have occurred.  A dog is considered property (until the misguided animal-rights people get the wording changed).  As property, dogs have certain protections under the law.  Hitting a dog and leaving the scene is the same as any hit-and-run.  The drivers who do not stop and attempt to find the owner of the dog are no different that drivers who hit your car and flee the scene (though I think they have scum for morals).  If anyone sees a driver flee such a scene I hope you take down as much information as possible and give it to the sheriff.
